UNIX on PM 9500

I have a PM 9500 that I want to install some UNIX derivative on. Which would you recommend for the 9500... Linux or BSD? Also, is there anywhere on the net where I can download a complete installation? I really don't want to root around for a bunch of files; too tedious.

I don't really have a reason to install a UNIX OS, I just wanna play.

Thanks

For a casual/beginner user Li

For a casual/beginner user Linux will be friendlier then any of the BSDs to install. I'd recommend Yellow Dog, despite it being somewhat bloated. (A 4GB disk is probably minimal, assuming you want all the toys.) It's *mildly* confusing to install on Beige hardware due to the boot requirements, but you don't need to futz with Open Firmware.

Yellow Dog it is...

It's mildly confusing to install?

I'm confused right now, trying to install Mac OS 9.1 on 9500/150... It installs on everything else just fine.

Aggravation... Arrhh.

Oh, thanks, I'll get Yellow Dog and install it.
