Replacing IIc RAM Chips - Recommended USA Purchase

After getting some blank discs and using ADT to burn some software, I'm finding out that my IIc has a few quirks at times. The biggest culprit being that there is an exclamation mark in the middle of the screen any time I am in 80 column mode. I cant find any information about this issue from anyone else online, but I do see that a lot of times users will have 2-3 exclamation marks on various parts of their screen usually due to a RAM issue. Though not as bad as some people's cases, it was worth doing some diagnosing to check if any internals were going bad.

Apple II Plus Keyboard Not Working Help

Hello, newbie to the forums. Former Apple II user from back in the 1980s. I recently acquired a couple of Apple II pluses. One works fine... on the other, the keyboard (non-encoder card type) does not work at all. The Power Light comes on but no keys work when pressed. I removed the Cable and MM5740 Chip and Cleaned the contacts and sockets but that didn't do squat...Another thing worth noting is that the previous owner installed a Keytronics KB-200 keyboard along with an interface board. On the keytronics keyboard, less than 1/2 the keys would work when pressed.

IIC+ and Floppy Emu Smartport not booting ???

Hi all,

So I have this new (to me) IIc+ that seems to be working fine. I can boot on an external 5.25 disk without problems.

Now comes the Floppy emu.  No matter what I do, I can't get the computer to boot n the floppy emu while emulating a 3.5 drive of a smartHD.  I know the images I am using are working fine, because I tried them on another computer.

Making my own Apple IIc Mouse - HELP

Hello! I'm fairly new to the Apple II community. I just purchased an Apple IIc locally, but it did not come with anything but the unit itself, so I'm in the process of starting from scratch gathering peripherals or making my own. My hardest struggle is figuring out a solution for a mouse to use. So I've set out to find/make an adapter to use a mostly modern PS/2 mouse to interface with the 9 pin AppleMouse jack.

Does anyone have any thoughts on what might be holding me up? Is the Arduino code for the quadrature conversion the correct method? Is there a better way to test a mouse input on the Apple II or a better way to acknowledge it's being read by the machine? Some help is greatly appreciated!

IIc+ GLU chip

This is a long shot...

I'm looking for the General Logic Unit (GLU) chip for the Apple IIc Plus.

It is labelled as part number 342-0243-A and is a PAL20X4 gate array chip, and is indicated on the IIc+ motherboard as UE9.

As shown here:  http://www.applelogic.org/files/3420243A.png

If anyone can help either supplying a replacement or has the code to program the PAL20X4 with a programmer (assuming you can still get one of those blanks) I'd certainly be grateful.

Apple color RGB monitor (A2M6014) problem after re-cap

Greetings all from New Zealand. I think this post will probably have a few of you shaking your heads but I still thought it was worth asking for advice...

I imported a matching monitor for my IIgs via EBay from the US, obviously using it with a step-down transformer as we're on 220V over here. It was sold "parts only". I was pleasantly surprised when it arrived to find it actually worked, it just needed the focus adjusted. I duly took the monitor apart and adjusted the focus  giving me a pretty much perfect picture.

New Xdrive firmware

Xdrive firmware has been updated to V1.03 which addresses a couple of issues:

1. Images created on Windows machines would sometimes show incorrect long filename.

2. Using the N command to boot disk in lower slot did not work with CFFA.
