'Mystery meat' Apple II arrives

Picked up the Apple II case w/mystery board that I bought on ebay. Apart from a musty smell and a little bit of corrosion here and there it looks pretty good. I found the CPU loose in the case. Hoping this doesn't violate any rules but I can't figure out the attaching picture process here, so the pics are here over at vintage-computer.com for those curious:

Transwarp card won't work in II+ But will work great in IIe

The transwarp is being odd. I installed it in a apple ii+ and I get errors during the self card test error type 2 and error type 3. Also the disk drives stop auto starting. In basic if I press enter few times there random garbled characters popping on the screen. I did the dip switches correctly also had the card in slot 0 with the language care removed and installed. Also took out all the cards and got the same issue.

Apple II label NOS: removal of protective plastic

I have run across a new Apple ][ label to replace the scratched up one on my computer.

I have however run into a problem. The factory plastic cover that was originally meant to protect it is now stuck to the label.

The little bits I have managed to peel off have revealed the label to have a noticeable resin underneath that is stuck to the paint.

Clones worthy of salvation

I'm a bit of an oddball with Apple stuff in that I find clones and the like to be just as interesting sometimes as the original deal. I particularly like stories like this:

That remind me of my own tinkering back in the day. I've rescued a few, including a Linden Series One and a Franklin Ace 1200 -- I'm wondering if there are other 'interesting' machines or kits out there anyone can recall that are noteworthy and worth saving/collecting?
