What is the status of Asimov’s Apple ][ Archive?

The server is still up, the Unsorted Directory goes back two to three years...

Anyone know who the owner is?   Can we as a community help out?

8-bit Merlin file saving issue

For some reason unknown to me, recently (the last month or so), every time I attempt to save any  file after doing so the first time using the 8-bit version of the ProDOS version of the  Merlin assembler using either the AppleWin or GS+ emulator, I receive an '40 INVALID PATHNAME' error.

What happens is...

Create a new source code file; assemble it; save the source file; save the object file. The first time I do so, both the source and object file save as expected.

Profile HD controller for Apple II

I was going through some junk today and ran across a Profile HD.  It powers up and seems to make the right noises.  It might have come with an Apple /// I got rid of about 1992.  Is anyone working on a clone of the Apple //e Profile controller?

recapping //e motherboard

(newb alert!)

I got a //e and replaced the power supply.  But recently I've read that all capacitors in a vintage computer (not just the PS) should be replaced because in time they will all fail.

So since I like to do everything right, I thought I am also looking into getting the motherboard, two disk drives and the monitor recapped.

I found a place that will recap the monitor, but in our recent email exchange they said they didn't think the motherboard had capacitors on it.

6 and 2 decode Algorithm

Hello,

Continuing my effort to build and efficient disk emulator I need to read the assemnly code of one sector,

I have a python script that can dissamble any 6502 code. I need to decode nibble 6 and 2.

I am looking ideally for a python script that we a function that take the NIB buffer of 342 char and return the 256 binary code

I have a bit search on github but nothing suitable of easy to extract

Thanks

Did I get a good deal for my IIgs?

Hi everyone. I just recently purchased a IIgs in the UK, which are rare to find outside the US. I paid £500 for the IIgs, a 17" flat screen monitor with adapter, Floppy EMU, 4 floppy drives (two 3.5" ones and two 5.25" ones), four new boxes of 5.25" disks, A CFFA 3000 hdd emulator and several software disks. I think I did pretty well but I just wanted someone else's opinion.

Call-A.P.P.L.E.'s "All About Applesoft", original vs. "Enhanced Edition"

Just wondering if any knows if the "Enhanced Edition" of Call-A.P.P.L.E.'s book "All About Applesoft" available at lulu.com adds any additional material over the original edition from the early '80s?  The page count on the "enhanced edition"  is considerably greater than the original, but was unsure if the difference comes from new formatting/layout or if it's from actual added material.

DuoDisk-][e compatibility

Hey Gang!I just acquired my first ][e. It's an early serial number: 09219 with the Original Rev. A board. My question is: can I connect a DuoDisk to this e? I know there is a Floppy controller for use with the DuoDisk, and more, but I am not sure if an Un-enhanced model can handle one...Thanks,Mark

A2Oasis/Win98SE: error mounting disks

Hi!  I currently can't try any suggestions, as the Win98SE tower is at my mother's house, and I left her house yesterday evening, but I have a problem with the A2Oasis emulator on the tower: I tried inserting two disk images, and both gave me an error message.  I don't remember what the message was, but it was an invalid format one.  Is there a bug with the version I'm using, or do I need to do something special to get them to work?  I didn't check the version #.
