Apple IIe sooms to work but gives no picture on TV

Hi all,

Yesterday I received an Apple IIe that I have bought on ebay for a bargain of £20 (it was being sold off on behalf of a large company that was getting rid of all of its Apple II computers).

I switched it on and it seemed fine (made beeb noise), can respond to keyboard commands (it beeps when you press return).

But I cannot get a picture on my TV. I have connected the TV to the plug that has a picture of a monitor/TV set).
I have gone up and down on the tuning manually (as autotune usually whizzes straight past computers) but still no picture!

All I remember were green monochrome graphics and....

No idea what this was called.

A friend and I had ridden our bikes to this new computer store that sold these new things called apple computers for thousands of dollars.

The owner said that he would let us play games if we took out the trash and swept. We did.

From what I remember (early 80s) it was a green monochrom text/graphics game. You know: Go north. Go south. etc.

I think I hit paydirt with a loaded thrift apple 2 GS

Wow. Today was an interesting day for thrifting. I used to be a big time thrifter,I would hit all the shops at least once every 2 weeks. Well in the last year, I bascially quit thirfting. Well today I was driving home and decided to pop in at my local Salvation Army (usually the worst of all the thrifts).

I was browsing in there and getting ready to leave when I saw a 2 gs sitting in a corner. The price tag on it was 1.99 and I was like "oh hmm, thats a decent deal" so I grabbed it. I discovered on the way out that it was 1/2 price day so it was 99 cents.

Disk drive problem

I am having problems with my Apple IIe disk drive not reading properly and diagnosed it as a speed/synchronization problem.
I am told that you can adjust the disk drive speed to compensate for this. How is this done? Can I do this myself or do I
need a tech? Everything else is OK and I don't want to damage any data on my disks.

Broken Transwarp?

Hi

Does anyone know what could be wrong with a Transwarp I just picked up?

I have an apple //e enhanced that runs fine. I am running it with a 1MB mem card in the Aux slot and 5.25 controller in slot 7.

When I insert the Transwarp into slot 3 (set to allow the 5.25 controller 1Mhz access and with the card set to standard 1Mhz speed) my iie will not boot up, i get;

1) no beep
2) a constant red internal power on light
3) a series of "blocks" on the screen (sometimes coloured, sometimes black and white)

Nightmare #6 game information.

When I was a kid in the 70's I had access to an Apple][ during the summer vacation. There was a game called nightmare #6. The object of the game was to work out the object of the game. Does anyone have any information on this? Specifically what was the object of the game? I have found no references to this game on the web.

Looking for an old Applesoft Dungeon Game

Hi,

I'm trying to figure out if anyone recalls an old Applesoft Dungeon Game from around 1978-1979.
I thin it was an Applesoft Dungeon Game that was printed in one of the magazines of that day.
It used the LoRes Graphics of the Apple ][plus I had. The characters were depicted as 2x2 blocks - and I recall the monsters were either Green or Dark Green in shade. You had to discover the Maze as you walked around and discover treasure and fight monsters. You would go up and down to different levels until you completed the game.

Non of my searches have even dug up anything that would help me build one DIY or what could be used as a substitue.
