Apple IIe platinum boot help

G'day everyone,
I got given a platinum IIe but when I connect it up to boot all I get is colored square's on screen.
I've also noticed one of the motherboard L.E.D'S next to the text CR2 don't light up.

also I have an original working IIe. can some parts from this be used to test things or are the mother boards totally different.
The original has PAL on the board while the platinum has International NTSC.
thanks hope someone can help me get this going. Dirol

Applied Engineering: Serial Pro Card

Good Evening All,

I received a Nibble Magazine today that I had won on eBay.
This issue was from 1988 and has some good ProDOS listings.
There seemed to be a lot of AE advertising throughout, but one ad in particular caught my attention. It was for an AE Serial Pro Card. This is used for printers (as you might suspect).
I have never seen an actual AE Serial Pro Card.
I don't believe that I have ever seen one listed on eBay.

Has anyone ever actually seen one of these?

Stackable storage box for Apple II systems?

I have several original A2S1 Apple II systems, and for space reasons I keep them stacked one atop another in my closet when not being used. Ideally I'd like to find a perfect, inexpensive plastic storage box that each system could be kept in to protect from dust and scratches. If the boxes are molded to allow stacking, then even better! The tricky part is an Apple II dimensions are 18"(457mm)x15.25"(387)x4.5"(113) so while there are certainly boxes that are big enough, all the ones I've seen are a few inches larger than necessary for this specific purpose.

Kickstarter-"The First Apple"

Good evening all,

For those of you who do not know, there was a Kickstarter Funding Project to produce a book called "The First Apple" by Bob Luther.

I contributed to the project and received one of the books, along with a sketch by Ron Wayne.

The story is about how Bob obtained his Apple 1 and his search to find the original owner. There are many interviews and stories concerning the beginnings of Apple and how one of the first Apple 1's was sold out of Steve Jobs garage.

Appraise my card! (AD-DA-C maybe)

Hello there, good people!

Recently, I just got this card. I can sense a great potential coming from this card.
However, I don't know (yet) what it is.

I know for the fact that it is a two-way digital-analog converter, but that's about it.
Is there anyone out here who can help me identify this item?

Apple UDC problem (Universal Disk Controller)

I just recently got a hold of a UDC card, and I'm just now getting around to testing it.

I have only been able to test it with a standard Apple 5.25 drive. Instead of regularly booting like it should, It makes a loud revving noise and then comes up with the following message:

"Error Number: 40

Boot error. Please check your
diskette and disk drive."

So far I have checked very minor things and have come up with no clues.

Any ideas?

Pictures coming soon...
