Apple III low voltages and IDE solution

Hi everyone,

Just finished recapping the PSU of an Apple III and tested the output voltages. Got good values on the positive +5V and +12V but the negative voltages are low, -10,8V and -3.9V since this is without load on the PSU are these values ok? I only recapped the RIFAs and the big caps on the 110V side.

Since I don't have a Profile Disk is there any modern adapter to connect a CF or SD card to simulate a hardrive on the Apple III?

Thanks for any help

What are the wire colors supposed to be for original Apple II+ male power connector?

Hello All:

What are the wire colors supposed to be for the original Apple II+ male power connector?

Mine on my 40 year old power supply are faded and my color vision is a wee bit impaired, plus old age.  I've googled for the answer.  I of course can find sketches for the pin-out voltages for each pin.  But thus far I could not find a listing for the wire color scheme presentation like one can find for the PC motherboard power supply 20/24 pin main connector(s).

Simple question but searches are failing me - Apple II+ power connector

All:

Despite what I thought would be a quick and easy Goolge or search here, I can't seem to find the proper part for the original Apple II+ power supply connector for the mother board.  For clarity, this is the femal part on the mother board, not the male end on the power supply wire harness.  @cfkerchner was looking for the male end of the bundle in another post and I thought going to that part on Mouser would lead me to its female mate.  No joy.

Anyone know the part number for this connector?

Thanks,

mark

Need Mfr & Part# for Power Supply male socket that mates to Apple II MB female socket

Hi all,

Looks like my power supply is dying again. I'm looking for the name of the manufacturer and part number for the male socket that is on the colored wire bundle that goes from the Apple II+ PSU to the motherboard.

I did see just now, that there is a connector assembly for sale on eBay from a salvaged PSU unit with the colored pigtails still on it, but they want $32 plus shipping. That is an extreme over price if you ask me, for just a pre-assembled (or should I say cut off a blown PSU) connector assembly. But that's the law of supply and demand I guess.

Does anyone have this usb keyboard and joystick interface?

I'm planning to build these:

I'd just buy them.  But I don't think he's going to be making more any time soon.  So I plan to make them.  The gerber files are on github.  But there's no bill of materials.  And he's not responding to me.

DIY Ethernet for Apple II+ and IIe

Evening All:

I want to play around with getting my Apple II+ and IIe on my home network and eventually Internet.  I know there are cards out on eBay and Uthernet cards, but I was curious how others have experimented with this.  In addition, I have some empty prototype boards and could, possibly, build one.

I have to admit I haven't done much research yet, but thought I would ask the community what experiences you have had and any do/don't suggestions.

Cheers,

ProDOS Will Not Work on My 64k Apple II+ with Unitron Language Card

Hello All:

This is a new thread to try and figure out why ProDOS 8 Version 2.4.2, nor Version 1.0.1 (copies on disk provided to me by Thellmer of this forum), will not boot beyond the "flash screen" which shows the program name and the copyright lines at the bottom of the screen. Nor will any copy of ProDOS that I had previosly download to disk from the ASCiiExpress website using my iPAD and the cassette IN port on my Apple II+. So I know the software is not corrupted. There is something wrong with my machine.

Newbie Question about Composite on a IIgs

I've been using emulators for a number of months for gaming (Wizardry, Nox Archaist) and programming (Applesoft & Assembly, just starting out).  I've gotten interested in upgrading/sidegrading to use actual hardware.  I'm a little torn between getting a IIe and a IIgs.  I'm trying to keep my expenses somewhat under control.  A IIgs by itself seems somewhat affordable, but monitor/keyboard/drives can get pricy depending on the details.
