Apple II

I am trying to repair 2 x disk II drives where they pass the speed tests I run on them (hooked up as the second drive) but they don't seem to even register when I do an allignment test (or other drive tests I have disks for).

Before condemning the circuitry, and having spent quite some time studying the mechanics of the ones I am trying to fix, I note the two 'stainless' bars on which the stepper motor adjusts the position of the head have a little corrosion on them and the movement of the unit along them is not smooth and in some places faces resistance.

I'm looking for an Apple IIe keyboard or the keycaps off the keyboard. I have a German Apple IIe PAL version and want to change the key caps on the keyboard to match the USA version. The QWERTZ keyboard is doing my head in.

I'd be happy even just replacing the Z and Y key caps if possible.

We're updating our homeowners insurance and they've asked us to itemize some of the more valuable personal property. I have two rev-0 and three rev-7 original IIs in very good condition. I searched ebay, but it doesn't look like these come up for sale very often. Seems like I saw a late serial number II go for about $2000 a few years ago. I remember because of the impact when my jaw hit the floor. Is that in the ballpark?

When I go to edit a programming error when entering a program in the built in language on the //e platinum, it won't let me arrow back more than a few characters...are there any other options?
