Apple II

(Also) looking for Apple II RPG info...

So I used to play this great Greek mythology RPG on the Apple IIgs when I was a wee tyke in school, but I can't remember its name, and it's driving me crazy! I'd given up all hope of finding it (or finding proof that it even existed) until I read someone else's post in this forum:

Questions about using an Apple II+ with "Asynchronous Serial Interface" + "Kaga Taxan RGB II" cards

Hello,

I just acquired an Apple II Europlus in working but slightly dodgy condition, and have some questions. I was hoping some people here may be able to help me. Smile

First of all, it has an "Asynchronous Serial Interface" card, but no cable. I'd appreciate any pointers to documentation on this card so I can build a cable and use it to connect my Apple up to other computers.

Appleworks 3.0 DB on a IIGS: How do I convert or import files to a modern computer?

My podiatrist brother is still managing his office practice with an AppleIIGS and Appleworks 3.0. He has his patient database on several 3.5 inch floppy disks. Is there a way to import/convert the data into an Appleworks or Excel file that could be used on a current PC (Windows XP) or Mac (OS X)?

apple IIe SHIFT key issue

Just got an Apple IIe off of eBay. It seems to be working fine, I am able to boot disks, etc. etc.

However, when I am at the command prompt, I can't get either SHIFT key to have any affect.

If I turn the CAPS LOCK on, all my letters are capitalised. But, that doesn't help with making quotes, etc. I also got the additional external keypad, and that is able to generate *, +, etc.

So, I am not sure what is up. Seems like the computer is fine, just both SHIFT keys aren't working. Stumped....

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

One Of The BEST Commercials Ever Made ....

Everytime I see this commercial I get a nice warm feeling.
This is "APPLE Computer" at it's greatest -- quiet intellectual coolness.

It speaks to everything it is to be human -- the physicality of playing basketball, the metabolismness of chasin' girls with a car ....

Then Dad shows his bonding with his son & gets 'im the best 8-bit machine ever made -- the "APPLE //c+" computer....
Enjoy! > The "APPLE //c+" Computer Commercial

Help looking for an old RPG game

I am looking for an old RPG game for the Apple II. I played this game in 1982. The name of this game I don't know and I have been search for the name for a few months now, but no luck so far.

It was a graphic fantasy RPG game (D&D like)which was in black and white (maybe it used a few colors but me not sure about that).

Vernier Software

this is pretty cool. This company I found while googleing, STILL supports the Apple II. they say they got thier start in 1981 by writing software for the Apple II, and still support it to this day. They make sensors and probs that work for it to. they plug in the game port, and can provide temperature and other data, and thier software is really well made. check it out
