Anyone willing and able to produce floppy disks in Australia?

Hi All,

If I provided media, would anyone in Aus be able to write out some diagnostics disks for me? I'll cover postage and pay media and any other out of pocket expenses.

I'm particularly after the Apple II+ Confidence disk, the Apex II diagnostics disk and Apple Cillin II.

(All are available from ftp://ftp.apple.asimov.net/pub/apple_II/images/disk_utils/diagnostics )

(If this kind of request is not allowed, let me know and I'll remove it immediately)

Steve Wozniak actual signature...

Just grabbed this on Ebay. I always see the "Woz" signature, but, haven't seen his full name signature. Does anyone know how rare a full Steve Wozniak signature is? I thought it was cool to add to my collection. Now I need a Steve Jobs autograph! :). Sorry for the post in the Apple II forum but it seems to be the most active. In any case, I'm still looking for an additional Ventless Rev. 0 if anyone has one for sale. Thanks!

ProDOS, 8 Drives per Slot...

From what I can see, ProDOS now supports 8 drives/volumes per slot without remapping. How precisely would I set up more than four volumes on (e.g.) a SCSI device, when the Apple II SCSI utils only support two drives (four on a //gs in slot 5)?

Does this also mean that I coul daisy-chain four 3.5 drives and four 5.25 drives?

How precisely would I set up a system to support this? It isn't very thouroughly explained.

BASIC.SYSTEM Changelog (since 1.5)?

I've been looking for a changelog for the ProDOS BASIC.SYSTEM (and an updated manual) that covers versions > 1.5, the last official Apple version. I do not see a changelog specific to this on the ProDOS website, and the current version now is 1.7.x, so, what has changed, and what is new?

Apple II Desktop: Integrated Applications and FSTs; v2.x?

Have any of you heard of, or used any programmes designed for integration with Apple II Desktop (originally MouseDesk)?

What I would like to see, at a minimum, in the future--which probably means writing it--are the following:

ANSI Text Editor: It'd be nice to support line numbers, and some other features such as find/replace. I suppose I could try porting something lie SciTE.

If done right, this could output a .BAS file, so you could write an AppleSoft BASIC programme in A2D, export as .BAS, then run it in A2D.

Trying to get ADTPro to work on Linux, without success yet

Hi everyone.  I was able to get ADTPro to work earlier with an Apple IIgs, but I no longer have that machine (sold it during the lockdown to help pay bills).  I now have an Apple IIc and I'm not able to get ADTPro to work for me.  I've heard a lot of people say that it can be the cable (since I can't use the same cable as the IIgs), but I did order it from the apple2online store, so I'd assume it's the right cable.  I'm also using the same usb to serial adpter as before.  I had the same Linux distro on there as before, but now ive reinstalled it to troubleshoot, but I'm getting the same res

SOS on the //e?

I'm curious, has anyone managed to run SOS on a //e with a large memory card? Given that we have 1MB cards commonplace, twice the RAM of the ///+, I see no system resource reason why a //e couldn't run SOS. I frankly have never tried to do that, but I would expect the boot block difference to get in the way of it working.

SO, has anyone managed to run or port SOS to the //e or //gs architecture? I think that it has some advantageous features that might be useful.

Connecting Mac Plus floppy drive to gs

So I was able to salvage a GS from our local ewaste facility and I've been able to get it up and running with ADTPro (speediboot however doesn't work, and I seem to be only able to transfer over serial with pin 8 on the gs serial port empty). Trouble is it only had a 5.25" floppy drive, and I have no disks (and no money to buy them online). I do however have a couple Mac Pluses, a couple LCs, A Mac II, a Classic II, and an M0130 external drive (ewates has been good to me). So I'm flush with mac 3.5" floppy drives and I have a 20 pin ribbon to DB-19 adapter from the M0130.

SONY KV-5200

Is there any chance that one of you might have a repair manual or schematic for the SONY KV-5200 (1979 colour NTSC portable television)?

I have one that does not power on, at all, and it is a beast to take apart. Before I tear it down, it;d be nice to know where to look for faults. This telly use DC12V or AC120V, so perhaps something in the switching circuit is stuck? It also had a battery pack from the factory, but I see no reason why it would not work if there was no battery and it was not set in charging mode; although perhaps the charging mode circuit is stuck?
