Focus IDE HD Broken?

I purchased a Focus Drive a number of years ago and finally got to installing it. I keep getting an error reading the drive, there is little information I can find, and cannot even verify if the card supports this drive or if the drive is even the original one. Since it was crated in 1998, it should support it, but I do not know enough about the chips or software.

Could anyone lend some insight?

Disabling a card to free up a virtual slot.

Hi all,

Somehow this posted without the message.

I'd like to be able to assign my CFFA3000 virtual Disk ][ to the same slot as my real floppy drive controller. That way I could switch betweem the two without opening up the computer. At first I thought to cut the Ground trace on the card, and wire in a switch to turn off the whole thing. However, I am wondering if it is possible to disable the physical card with a machine language routine?

Help! First time Apple IIe user.

Hello everyone,

I just bought an Apple IIe platinum from an antique shop. It turns on and I know that the ROM works because we loaded up a program they had. I brought it home and power it on but can't get anything to happen. I turn it on and get this screen but nothing else works. Please help me figure out how to work this machine. Every video I watch does not have this issue.

Graphics Error in II Plus

Hello!

In the past few weeks, I acquired an Apple II Plus that seems to have a graphics error. Whenever I attempt to boot the computer, vertical lines appear instead of the normal startup screen. I don't know if a chip is fried or what. I've added a high resolution image of the motherboard below for reference. Any help is appreciated!

Thanks
Kevin

P.S. - I should add that I'm an amateur when it comes to pre-mac era Apple machines and this is my first Apple II.

IC question

Hi I am fairly sure these questions have been asked before, but I am unable to find the correct thread.
I am trying to find the parts for an empty (totally stripped Apple IIe motherboard). I have questions about to chips. I am reading the Apple IIe Repair Guide by Double Density on A2OL, in the inventory list they mention IC MC741 (OpAmp) in location A11, is this the correct chip, or can it be replaced my an LM741? I know I will most likely not ever need it, as it is the amplifier for the cassette player, still I like the board complete.

Apple IIGS ROM03 with "Turbo->28"

Hi, all

Any one has idea on Apple IIGS ROM03 with boot screen first line "Turbo->28" rather than "Apple IIGS"? Is it an early ROM03 unit, developer unit or?
I couldn't find any information from the web.

Thanks,
Michael

FPGA Apple IIGS - Latest 2018 news?

To date, how far has an Apple IIgs FPGA or core for any FPGA platform come to fruition?

I must say I have great fun with the MIST Apple IIc core. I wish it got an update for write support or GS features.

Modern day methods to upgrade a Rom 00 IIgs to 01 or 03?

Questions on Rom revisions:

1. Is Rom 3 the best and fully compatible with all software or have it's quirks? Is there some reason people would want to stick with Rom 01?
2. What are my options to upgrade a Rom 00?

Apple IIe Diagnostics Card 2018 version!!!

Well,

I soldered the prototype of the Apple IIe diagnostics together today with the parts I sourced and it works!!!!

I included a picture of the screen and the card.

I soldered Machined sockets on the card so I can use it as a test Jig. Also, I didn't solder the black ROM socket either.

I am going to put a few more of these together this weekend, but you will see them soon on Henry's RM page to buy.

WooHoo!!!

Thanks,
Jay

I added another board I made from another fabricator and it worked too!!!
