Apple //c Plus Floppy Drive Problem - Seeking Advice

Hello Everybody,

As I mentioned yesterday, I have returned to the fold after having been gifted with a //c Plus. Aside from some cludgy keys, the computer seems to be functioning well, except for the disk drive.

And We're Back...

I am so  happy to finally return here after having been gone for so long.

I was just gifted with an Apple //c Plus, and I have so many questions. Anyway, they will come later, for now, hello again, long time, no see.

Packing CRT monitor for shipment

I need to ship a 12" CRT monitor and am wondering if the best method would be to pack it with the CRT face down rather than sitting normally?

Plan to surround the monitor with about 2" of polyethylene foam which is stiffer than bubble wrap but not as stiff as styrofoam and should give good support.

Need Help with my Apple Image Writer II

Hello,

My name is Chris and I'm new to the forum and would like to briefly introduce myself. In my free time, I repair and restore classic computers and have a small collection of my own. I'm slowly reaching my limits with repairs and need your help.

Vulcan Menu

By chance I discovered something about the Vulcan hard drive that I never knew about and don’t see in the manual.

On booting the Vulcan by accident I happened to press the space bar and a menu from the Vulcan firmware opened. It gave me a choice of which slot to boot from or which Vulcan partition to boot off of. I wish I'd known about this years ago.

Sadly it’s only on the IIgs and not the IIe. I’m using the Vulcan Gold firmware. Don’t know if it’s on the earlier versions

Asking you to do a small experiment (needs: Liron card or clone)

Hi folks -

if you have an Apple II, Apple II+, Apple IIe with at least 64k of RAM and a "Liron" card or a clone thereof, or if you own one of the devices supporting "SmartPort" operations, or emulations of "SmartPort" mapping Protocol Converter calls to a Flash memory driver, I have a little experiment you can do for me (and as a benefit for all of us) which does not cost you much time.

My early Apple II PSU is weird (820-0003-01) - RIFA caps nonexistent?

I've been working on re-capping and refurbishing the PSU in an original Apple II, serial number TODO. The saga is documented in full here.

However, my Dad and I have run into an issue:

Testing an Apple //e I/O Card 655-0101

Good evening,

I have the card in question, with its internal cable for my //e (converted to Enhanced today)

I have built the external DB-19 cable and have tried with a DuoDisk drive as well as a SmartProSD device. In both cases they power up, but nothing happens afterwards.

Could anyone help me determine what is faulty in my setup? It can be any or all of:

Apple IIGS Keyboard question

I have an Apple Keyboard II with my IIGS and somewhere along the line the spacebar might have lost it's spring , if it ever had one. I suspect these have two springs, but all I can see is one small one and perhaps a space for another. Am I missing a spring?
