Modem for an Apple IIgs

I was wondering about modems though. There are still a few live phone BBS's out there and so I would like to get a modem for the IIgs. Correct me if I am wrong as I dont know much about Apple II's yet. The Apple IIgs has a rear serial port so instead of looking for a (rare it seems) internal Apple II modem, cant I just get an external serial modem and a proper cable and use that?

Seeking info for Hollywood Hardware ROM card

Just acquired a Hollywood Hardware ROM card (almost) full of ROMS and I'm looking for anyone that has info about the card. It came with literally nothing but the EPROMS that are on it. If someone out there has one and is looking for a copy of the EPROMS, I'm happy share those too. Just want to get it working. Thanks in advance

PS/2 Mouse on Apple IIe

Anybody ever use one of these http://vintageware.orconhosting.net.nz/mouse.html I have recently discovered appledesktop, and I have a mouse card in my Apple iie. Just wondering if they work OK, as the real ones are expensive on 'EPAY'.

Single density disks failing at a faster rate than double density?

I've noticed recently that my SD disks are failing at a much higher rate than DD. However, on average, my SD disks are older than my DS disks.

Is there something unique about using SD disks on the Apple II that results in greater failure rate, or is it more likely just that the disks are a couple of years older? They are all stored under the same conditions.

My failure rate for DD disks has risen to about 1.5%/yr, while SD are at 19%. (By no means a rigorous, scientific test, but I do keep basic stats.)

A IIGS 3.5 Drive

So, I got my A IIGS today. It has 5.25, and 3.5 drives. I don't have any GS software yet, as I have to make an ADTPro cable. I used an ADTPro 5.25 floppy I have, to try to format the 3.5, and it won't even list it under volumes. I tried a PRODOS User Disk, and it also doesn't show up there. The drive will run, and the LED will light when I do a list volumes, but doesn't show up in the list. Is this drive not supported by the floppies I'm booting from, or is the drive bad.

Super Serial Card II in Apple IIgs

Will a Super Serial Card II that will work in an AIIe work OK in an AIIgs? The reason I'm asking is I bought a IIgs, and want to use ADTPro with it. I've read the manual, and it says some cards will and some won't. I hope the SSC II is one of the ones that works Smile Thanks.

Apple IIe Mouse Card

I purchased a 670-0030 mouse card for my apple iie. I am unable to find a manual on the internet anywhere. Does anyone have a pdf of the manual they could send me, or know what is the preferred expansion slot that it plugs in to? Thanks.

What is the card next to the memory card in this IIgs?

This IIgs caught my attention, since it looks like a IIe -> IIgs upgrade board in a regular IIgs case (due to the connectors on the motherboard). I can't identify the card. It looks like it might be some kind of multifunction card with floppy connectors. The auction says it is a SCSI card, but not one that I recognize. Just curious.
