Apple //c problem

Hi, im trying to transfer some Prodos to my bare metal apple //c. I have my null modem cable hooked to my apple //c (modem port) and to my Laptop (usb connection, COM3 (which is the lowest com i have, the rest are com4-6), usb to serial converter cable with installed driver (micro innovations)). The problem i have is when i do 'IN#2' on the //c, and press i do get the '?' but cannot type in the 14b it requests me to input. It seems that when i press the first character the '?' turns into a square block cursor but no characters are actually outputted to the screen. This is normal?

Can anybody help me?

Ok so I was playing around with scholastic HyperScreen and in the tutorial it mentions Slide Shop and Melody Shop
They are both made by scholastic and are made for Apple IIe.
Does anybody have either of these two programs?

Monitor III lines across screen?

Hello,

I'm new here, and I just bought a Monitor III for my Apple IIe. I currently don't have a composite video cable, so I can't connect the two. But when I plugged the monitor in and turned it on, I got a green screen with black lines moving upward. Is this normal? Last I checked, I should be seeing a solid green screen.

I'd appreciate your help. I only have about 108 minutes to get this issue fixed.
