DOS 3.3 utility to free up track 2 sectors?

Does anyone know of a utility on Asimov for DOS 3.3 that can edit the volume bitmap, to free up unused sectors in track 2?

DOS 3.3 does not fully occupy the first three tracks (0,1,2) and only uses about 8 of the sectors in track 2, though by default the volume bitmap marks the entire track as in use.

It is possible to mark those extra sectors as available for program storage, though it's very hard to do by hand with a sector editor.

Restoring my Apple ii Europlus

Hi I am a Newbie here and forgive me for asking the question I have seen in various places across this site and the web.

Back in the 1981, as a teenager I really wanted an Apple ii but ended up with a PET (which I still have, and still runs). Years passed and I never forgot the ii and as age and nostalgia took hold, I felt I would waste a little money and buy one. Here is the UK, they don’t seem to come up too often but I found an Apple ii Europlus, with an Apple monitor and two disk drives on ebay and took the plunge knowing it was only a partial runner.

Hello from a new member

Hello

I just joined because I saw that you had this Apple II forum.

I'm one of those many people from decades ago that used to work on them.
Then I was a member of a BBS called "The PigSty" (where pigfont came from) and worked at Roland US where I also did some Apple II programming for them in my spare time. (I was a fulltime repair tech.)

My first Apple was an Apple II+ with 48K. 1979 or so, I think.
It changed configurations many times, having Sider hard drives, a Dtack68000 board, Gibson Lite pen (I was an early user) and many other bizarre peripherals, some home-made.
I still have some cards and most are shown on my small Apple II page at my website below:

http://www.synthfool.com/apple2

I also recently started playing around with an old Mountain Computer A/D, D/A board and did this small video of what I came up with after a few hours of work:

Fwiw, I also have an Alpha Syntauri 5 octave keyboard I want to sell.
No Mountain music cards or anything else for it, but oh well.
Also some broken Sider drives and controllers lying around I can't use.

Anyway, just wanted to say hi. Smile
