Apple II

Just lost "BLUE" on my Apple IIgs monitor a2m6014

I was adjusting a bad picture on an Apple IIgs monitor model a2m6014 and my ground clip (aligator clip) slipped off and shorted near the R6B8 resistor on the neckboard. I still have video but I have lost all blue. I dont have a schematic. Can anyone tell me how to proceed. I am leaning to Q6B2 as the culprit.

Floppy EMU stuck at Track 00

Hello.  I'm new here and recently got an Apple II+.

I also picked up a Floppy Emu by Big Mess Of Wires.  The device was working great, until this morning.  Now it just sits there at track 00, trying to read, but never advancing.

Any ideas?

Monitor problem

I have an Apple monitor I picked up a few years ago.  Unfortunately, it did not do too well in shipping, so it arrived with a few broken plastic pieces, and the video looks like the photograph.

It can't be fixed through any of the four external knobs - it seems like some kind of horizontal hold problem.  Any suggestions for internal adjustments or components I can check?

Duodrive not letting some floppies be inserted - weird mechanical problem

I’ve got an Apple II with a duodrive, and I can’t get a recently purchases system floppy to slide into the master drive.  The problem is mechanical and only affects the master drive, not the slave drive.  Sadly, though I can get the system floppy into the slave drive, as far as I can tell, you can’t boot the machine off the slave drive.

Murder Party Decoded!

I've finally completed my write-up about my exploration of Electronic Arts' Make Your Own Murder Party data disk, as well as an explanation of how the data is decoded by the software. The complete decoded text, my explanation of how it all works, as well as the program I wrote to decode the data can be downloaded here:

(By the way, I'll update the other thread about the Murder Party printing issue sometime soon.)

Here's a brief synopsis of my observations and decoding tutorial:

Apple Independent Developer conference(s)? 1983

Hey all,

A neat letter showed up in a pile of Apple II docs I was sorting. It's is a letter thanking someone for having attended the independent developer conference in April 1983.

I looked into the conference just out of sheer curiosity, and found several references to a 1983 independent developer conference, but, that one happened in August 1983, several months after this letter. I can find no refernece to a conference earlier in the year.

If someone wants me to scan the whole thing let me know and I'll pop it out of the frame I have it in.

Grappler vs Grappler+

Anyone know the difference between the Grappler and  Grappler+ cards?

I'm curious because I'm looking for a parallel printer card for use with a NEWPRINT device on my ROM3 IIGS, and some claim Grappler compatibility but I've not seen any claim Grappler+ compatibility.   This article claims the IIGS is picky about its Grappler+ cards - seems you want a model where chip U10 is a 74LS374

How to 'steal' sprites from Apple II games ?

During development of a graphics card for the Apple-1 I ran into the problem to procure some nice looking on-screen figures found in Apple II games for demo purposes. Alas, the process using a real Apple II (clone) is too tedious, it takes me about 15 minutes until have a a captured screen image on my Linux machine to work on it, only to find out it was taken while the screen buffer was incomplete (software still drawing the 'sprites' or the fixed objects). So I moved to AppleWin-1.30.12.0 emulation where I have the debugging console.
