What do you suggest using to reattach the latches on my Apple ][+

It's a very nice and clean specimen so whatever I do, I want it to look good and work well. Should I use epoxy? It seems to me that normal superglue wouldn't be strong enough. Any advice is appreciated.

I would suggest ...

I would suggest you use this stuff:  https://www.ebay.com/itm/142278413569/

It's similar to what Apple uses but I think better.  If you can find it in black, that would keep you from having to use a black permanent marker to mask the edge of the adhesive pad before applying.  Using this will not "deface" the case like a glue would.

If you prefer glue, superglue does work but will eventually crack from the plastic.

Some silicone adhesives (specifically an adhesive, not a sealant) work OK but can pry away.

Epoxey works well if you use the steel reinforced stuff.  (JB Weld brand is the best)

Hope this helps!

Double sided tape

What about this stuff?

https://www.amazon.com/3M-Heavy-Mounting-width-length/dp/B007Y7H56E/ref=pd_sim_229_2?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B007Y7H56E&pd_rd_r=c046dd08-230c-11e9-a560-cf993223e1a5&pd_rd_w=D4Pc0&pd_rd_wg=iOTXZ&pf_rd_p=90485860-83e9-4fd9-b838-b28a9b7fda30&pf_rd_r=ME93D815R58HAGQWCBBK&psc=1&refRID=ME93D815R58HAGQWCBBK

Do you think this stuff is the same?

Looks relatively the same ...

Looks to be relatively the same, but the key word is "permanent".  The adhesive used makes a difference.

I read the reviews on the product you indicate above, and there's a 10 percent fallout (unsatisfactory) on the product, but that could very-well be how those folks used it.  Doesn't mean it's wrong or bad, but for the price, it's worth a shot IMHO.  No damage if it doesn't work out.

Something to consider ...

When the cover is snapped down, there is a possibility that there is pull tension between the 2 mating surfaces.  You'll want to minimize this because the cover could be constantly pulling from the main body, thus pulling at the adhesive.  Using 2 adhesive layers might help in this situation.

keep in mind that II+ shells

keep in mind that II+ shells are painted. I have seen adhesive side of velcros came off with the paint. Some of the II+ shells have velcros welded onto instead of adhesive for thaat reason.
