IN4001 and MR500 diodes

Hi

I have tried to locate some round ceramic diodes like the ones used on the NTI boards, but I haven't been able to. Any tips? What is the package called?

Typical.. a few minutes after posting this, I found that Vishay BYT56A and SF5400 looks very similar. They have a SOD-64 package and are rated at 3Amp 50V (same as IN4001 and MR500). They are glass encapsulated.

These diodes are referred to as...

These diodes are referred to as sinterglass diodes.  Search eBay for sinterglass and you will see the many available, but finding original 1N4001 in sinterglass is very hard.

Good luck in your search.

Do you think a A114A would be an equivalent replacement?  I put those on my NTI board, and now am second guessing myself.

The A14F diodes are rated for 2.5 amp and the A114A is rated for 1 amp.  So I would think you'd want to change those out.

I have not been able to find

I have not been able to find A14F for Vishay, but the only difference seems to be SOD64 and SOD57 packaging. This is actually the same package, but with the pips prebent on the SOD57.

Turns out those things are hard to find and expensive... and fragile.  Oops.
