RAM for PowerBook 1400

Does anyone know of a source to buy some RAM for a PowerBook 1400 that isn't eBay? I just recently aquired a 1400c/166, but it only has the 16 MB of RAM. I'd like to add more so I can install 8.6 on it (currently running 8.1) with some breathing room. But, eBay and FB Marketplace seem to have nothing. I searched for an online vendor, but unsurprisingly, no-one seems to support the 1400 any more.

Yes! I had the same issue,

Yes! I had the same issue, and when items would pop-up, they were way too expensive. I had good luck with Yahoo Auctions Japan via Buyee.jp.

Here's a link to the search "powerbook 1400" YMMV.

1400 RAM

After my 1400c's plastic on the laptop cover exploaded, I stripped all of its innerds out with the idea of converting my 1400cs to a fully capable 1400c.

But now I have tired of the idea.

Bushnrvn: what do you think the fair value of the RAM module would be?

Also is there a fair market price for the somewhat rare internal Ethernet card?

Interesting. There IS what

Interesting. There IS what looks to be a RAM module there. I may have to consider, although I may have found another lead that is in the States.

I've seen RAM go for as little as $15, but it does vary. Prices in the US have been much higher.  I had to keep checking for a bit until I found a price that worked for me. As for the Ethernet card, prices these days are so wild, I'd say your best bet is to find a 1400c that already has one installed, and perhaps the seller isn't in the know.
