(I'm assuming speedyG got you hooked up)

Before it was called "the cloud," it was called "ftp."

No private message received from the earlier poster on this topic...

I guess it is becoming a secret.

This, friends, is how we can remain safe from the next generation, who have surpassed us in knowledge of newfangled things: stick to protocols everyone else has forgotten. Curmudgeons unite! Wink

OK: I stopped drinking long enough to understand your message, David! Here are the results...

[Sorry:can't figure out how to upload a screenshot - I uploaded DB Master & David-DOS II]

I put them in the Incoming Folder: I assume that was correct!

An unnecessary step, I assure you - I would never advocate the cessation of drinking. Cheers!

Hello MichaelLAX,
first the excuse that the message seemingly went off to nirvana....
probably my mistake by hitting the wrong key while besides having a phonecall.....
seems i´m really not multi-task-person and restricted to sequential actions...

the reason is not the secret of transmission .... i described 3 possible ways to solve the mission of upload...
the reason for private message was the fact that the point 3 in the description contained a valid email adress to
the admin of asimov.... and that for sure i did not want to put in public area as post....

it is my strict policy never to issue valid email adresses of any one in public space where anonymous can read it,
because that poor guy might then be spilled all over with spam related to illegal Viagra, sexdates and other trash...
the first method in my descrition was similar to the ftp listing above...
regards speedyG

Re: How do I send a program floppy image to Asimov?

Actually none of us really have the ability to multi-task: Have you seen episode 3 of that wonderful National Geographic TV mini-series, Brain Games? We can just do multiple things, at a slower speed: just like our CPU!

I agree about email addresses!

BTW: I note that this forum does not allow for message sending EDITING. I would like to edit some information out of a prior post. Any idea who to contact to do this?

Also, I was able to attach PDFs to an earlier post, but seamingly difficult to do to this thread...

I guess I am getting old: GETTING? hahahahahha

UPDATE: OIC: I cannot edit the first message in a new thread! Any ideas how I can delete an attachment from such a first message and upload a different one (or just delete it altogether?)

Re: How do I send a program floppy image to Asimov?

Hello MichaelLAX,
Tom Owad ist the administrator of this entire site and the fastest way is to just use the contact link above.

But probably i might save him a mail - if i just pick up your guesses and probably guess what the answer might look alike:
Tom manages this site in his rare privat sparetime and therefor ( i guess he has a family or some similar to that - as most of us.... ) of course his time is always a balancing conflict of sharing time with the site and with his relations to the people around him.... i also guess we can´t call him to be a neard waisting his life by only sitting in front of the monitor - a coke and some fastfood beside - and a good relation to the pizza service...
otherwise i would be worried about his future... so the site took quite a time to be brought up to this good fashion ( thanks from all AFs to Tom for this great platform !!! ) and the last larger change is quite a while ago...

so it is surely a good idea to just mail him the points as ideas that might be thought about in the next upgrade of this site.... but it might be wise not to expect that it will be just the kick to force immediate reaction... but as proposals to think about with next change of the site i guess its realy a welcome from him....

what probably might be an idea for example :
dear tom,
there is a link above to "FAQ" - i tried to find some hints about how to use this site for example how to put a link or a photo into a thread or post... i see icons in the editor - but some are not familiar to me... and some of them are not also availiable with the editor of the PM´s is there a chance to get both editors with the same icons and options or is there a special reason that pm´s are restricted to less options ?
could there be some small block of "hints" about usage of the site at the "FAQ"s ?

.... but first of all just view the forum "AF architects"...

of course that´s just my guess
