Applesoft Commands ...

Hiya folks!

Do you folks happen to know what "PR" stands for? I see that it lets me "boot" from a specific slot/drive and switch from 40/80 columns. Does it do anything else?

Is there a way to "read" a file in BASIC? I've got a disk with some random files and I can't seem to tell what they are. In MS-DOS I can just use the "type" command to generally figure out what a file "contains" ... is there an equivalent in Applesoft?

Z80 softcard + mouse card

Hi, today I tried to boot my Z80 softcard in my IIe unenhanced.  Trying multiple disk found on the web lead me only to a solid cursor at the top lef of the screen, nothing else. I tried many slots, and then I realised that if  I unplug my mouse card, then the Z80 soft card boot fine, in each slot.

my question is: it is a know behavior, that the Z80 soft card isn't compatible with the mouse card? Is there a way to have both working in the IIe?

Thanks and have a nice day!

Free PCBs

Hi all:

I have some PCBs for a PS2 to Apple II/II+ interface based on this sites design https://knzl.at/ps2-keyboard-for-apple-ii/

There is a minor issue.  As these were first effort boards, the PS2 componenet mounting is backwards.  They are also untested.

The PS2 port is facing the socket locations.  It should be facing outward.  That being said, it would be easy to jumper it from the socket to a panel mount or similar.

If you would like one, drop me a PM.   I only have 3 boards available.

FujiNet Apple2 bring-up instructions for DIY

In case it's not evident:

You can build an #apple2 #FujiNet using the schematics for the Fujinet 1.0, or using a DevkitC on a breadboard and wiring it up to a DB19 connector according to the instructions in:

https://github.com/FujiNetWIFI/fujinet-platformio/blob/iwm/lib/bus/iwm/iwm.cpp

using the board bring-up instructions:

https://github.com/FujiNetWIFI/fujinet-platformio/wiki/Board-bring-up-for-FujiNet-Platform.IO-code

and using the code in the IWM branch: https://github.com/FujiNetWIFI/fujinet-platformio/tree/iwm

@Jeffpiep has been doing a lot of excellent work to bring the #Apple2 #FujiNet firmware up to speed for block devices. Shown here booting Total Replay v4 from the DigitalOcean cloud! More to come in the coming weeks!

Unitron keyboard alternatives

Evening friends,

A while back I obtained a United U-2200.  Based on feedback from several members in earlier posts, the actual Uniteon keyboards are very rare.  I know Apple II+ keyboards can be modified to work, but it pains me to tear apart an Apple II+ to scavenge it's keyboard.

That being said, I am looking for alternatives and would welcome any suggestions.

My thought is to take a 'claky' USB keyboard and convert it to work as the Uniteon's externally connected keyboard.    I am just beginning this quest and the following comes to mind.

from 48K to >48K

Hi all,

I'm looking for options to increase my original Apple ii plus RAM. I have a boot ROM so I'm not necessarily interested in the language card but after posting on the wanted-to-buy forum and searching ebay, I'm not seeing any 16K expansion cards.

So... what are my options here? I do see super expander cards for sale but I'm not confident they work with an Apple ii plus and they are $50 with no RAM chips.

Any other options available?

Thanks!
