Base pan paint color

I have an Apple ][ where the previous owner took a grinder to the base plate to remove the paint down to bare metal and used epoxy to glue new rubber feet. Has anybody found a good spray can color match?

game port test

Hi,

please anyone having an Apple IIe, could you try the below code and let me know what is the output?

On my Apple IIe I got 255 0 so i think that something on my game port is broken because I expect to get 127 127. What do you think about it?

Please try it without any joystick connected.

 

10 A =  PDL (0)

20 B =  PDL (1)

30  PRINT A;" ";B

40  GOTO 10

New to Apple II

Hi!

I hope I've found the right place. I recently picked up an Apple II Europlus. Growing up in the UK these things were pretty scarce and at the grand old age of nearly 50, I've just gotten my first one. It had apparently been stored for 20 years.I've opened it up and cleaned it and given the PSU a full recap. All expansion cards have been taken out and I have only the power and video out connected.When I power on, I get a screen that looks like this. There is no beep (though I'm not certain the speaker works).

One day, I powered on my ROM03 IIgs and the screen was frozen with rows of mixed colours (green / grey).

Disk II slide ball

I'm servicing a couple of Disk II (Shugart) drives that I have. One seems to lost it's little tiny ball for the stepping plate/tab which presses down in to the track of the stepping wheel/disk.

Anybody who knows which size that little ball has or know of a source who have them?

Apple II Astec Power Supply Bad Component @ D9

  ASTEC AA 11040B died while in normal use. Component at D9 which looks like a resister blew.

Apple Product Information on Astec Power Supplies, originator Larry Sovulewski from 1982 lists

D9 as a rectifier RGPA5B, I believe Apple part number 226-11100040.

Short of removing one from another P.S. where can I obtain one of these?

Jen elettronica Apple II Keyboard

I found a (most likely) soundchaser-clone.

It was made by Jen elettronica in 1982/83 and uses the Mountain Computer Music System. Currently only the interface is in my posession but i have aquired the Keyboards itself (in transit) and maybe even the software (part of a 100 disk package from the same seller).

This is all very interesting as i did not know that there were clones of the soundchaser.

SSC Diags / ADTPro

I asked this over on the Book of Face.  I'm focussed on the SSC as I don't think I missed anything in the ADTPro setup or use but I could be wrong.

Any way to test a Super Serial card? A loopback or something that doesn't require a terminal program.

To add some context. I am having trouble with ADTPro and getting it to recognise the server on my laptop.  Starting to suspect the SSC.

Favorite terminal emulator?

What's your favorite terminal emulator for the Apple IIe and why?

 

 Backstory:

 

I recently got a super serial card and have been trying different term programs to connect to an rs232 wifi modem. I've tried dcom (works but slow), proterm (couldn't get more than gibberish characters regardless of settings!), and modem mgr (works, seems best so far).
