Beyond Castle Wolfenstein

According to wikipedia -

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beyond_Castle_Wolfenstein

The source code for this was released after his passing.

I have checked http://mirrors.apple2.org.za in
various sections and cannot find it other than the
game .dsk.

Does anyone know where this is?
And also, does this include Castle Wolfenstein?

Look here.

Has anyone tried it out yet?

Sorry if my last two posts are old news. Been away from my Apple stuff for a while.

CFFA3000 vs MicroDrive/Turbo IDE Controller

I'm thinking about getting a CFFA3000 now that the fall run is in production, and I see a competing product from Ultimate Apple called the MicroDrive/Turbo IDE controller. It advertises as full DMA compatible, which makes it up to 40% faster than other controllers with reduced CPU overhead. I also read that the CFFA3000 hardware could support DMA, but it has not been enabled, and hasn't had any progress in that area for many years.

So is the MicroDrive/Turbo really that much better? Has anyone put the two units head to head?

RamFast questions

My HD did not survive the trip to the new house. Using the program Deliverence I ran it on the Ramfast Rom disk on the IIgs desk top. It says it found 5 errors ? Now this is a Rom disk, The first was the Keyblock was wrong and the other 4 were in cache. Now is this normal, Deliverence ask to make permanent fix. I do not think that can be done to a Rom Disk. Maybe the one on the Desk top, but not the one it is loading from the RamFast itself.

Some unknown boards on my Apple 2 !

Hello :).

I recently got an Apple 2 ( a pal one ) and I have some unknown boards inside. I absolutely don't know why these board are used for.

Here are some info about them :

- AMPEX ASSY 3586600 with a stickers where " Host Adapter for Apple IIe " is wrote on it. It ends with a 50pin connector at the back of the computer. It's plugged on port 4.
- One with a stickers where " LPV1 " is wrote on port 1. It ends by a "Centronic 50 pin" connector.
- One with a stickers where " Jumper for high resolution monitor " is wrote on it. It's on slot 3.

Upgrading the Apple IIgs Power Supply

So this is an area where I lack significant knowledge.

I have an Apple IIgs with a Briel 4MB card, a CPM card, and a CFFA3000. I've preordered an Uthernet II and I've begun to wonder if I need to be worried about power usage. I sometimes run a printer, this isn't a must. I also hope to get an accelerator at some point...

I really don't have a good grasp on the power requirements of hardware from this era. I don't have the power supply in front of me at the moment, but I think it is ~100w?
