PS/2 keyboard adapter for Platinum //e

Does anyone know if the Option 8 RetroConnector Keyboard Interface //e like this:

https://www.tindie.com/products/option8/retroconnector-keyboard-interface-for-apple-iie/#specs

works with a Platibum //e?  I have a Platinum //e with a keyboard that is basically unsalvageable.  I have the motherboard, case, power supply...

Not sure if I would need to swap out the keyboard encoder ROM to an original style //e one to make this work.

videx softswitch not working

I have a II+ with a Videx and softswitch, but I cannot get the 40 column output on the videx output.  I have triple checked the installation and it all looks correct according to the manual.  When I activate the Videx, I get the 80 column output no problem?  Any ideas?

Thanks!

A2USB: Apple II Mouse Interface Card & USB Support

I wrote a blog article on a new firmware project: A2USB. Adds USB support to the well-known A2VGA boards and emulates an Apple II Mouse Interface Card - connecting a standard USB mouse.

Currently requires a bit of tinkering - as described in the blog. Already works really well, but still needs testing on more and other machines.

Creating this forum topic for possible discussions - in case someone wanted to give this a try...

Questions abou my new apple II

Hi everybody,

in my youth the Apple II was the unreachable dream. I had to settle with a ZX 81. Now i bought all the machines of my youth again (ZX81, Dragon 32, Amiga 500) and finally also got myself an Apple II europlus. It has a lot of expansion cards. For some of them I have questions that I could find no answers online.

Lower case on the Apple II+ WITHOUT the shift mod?

I went back home for Christmas, and my father had retrieved my boyhood Apple II+ from storage. We originally got it second-hand, and it came with some expansion cards and some mods installed, but I was a child, so whatever the computer did was what I assumed it was supposed to do. Now I'm older and a little nostalgic, I've spent some time reading up about the Apple II+ hardware, watched some videos about how things were supposed to work, and grown curious about how my Apple II+ had been configured.

Skipping ahead to the observations:

Apple IIc memory chip replacement

Hello,

I'm planning to restore my Apple IIc and I've noticed that RAM chips are defective.

I've searched Internet to find these chips replacement, without any luck.

Any suggestions or pointers ? Ideally an European shop would be a plus.

Heaps of thanks.
