Era Authentic Platinum //e config

I'm planning a Platinum //e system renovation and just curious about a "typical Plainum //e".    How would you describe a typical system? My gut says this is more of a school system than business system. I have extensive experience with orginal Apple ][ with Integer ROMS,  ][ Plus, Franklin Ace , Laser 128 and other clones,  and early and late beige //e machines, but I was not around many Platinum //e machines in their era.

Potentiometer thermo plastic "grommet" repair

Ok, so you're me.  You google scratchy Apple IIC potentiometer and you end up at this page:  http://www.apple2faq.com/apple2faq/apple-iic-volume-knobpotentiometer-repair/  ou desolder your audio pot from the motherboard.  Of course, tThe potentiometer in the picture is nothing like yours, and the instructions don't make any sense.  You proceed happily cut away at the plastic grommet holding the inner wheel anyway.  The inner wheel slips out.  You DeOxit F5 your wheel to death and scrub it with a toothbrush.  You're confident that your metal bits and pieces are as good as brand new and now y

ISO Gerber files for Ralle Palaveev's ProDOS 512K NVRAM drive

In search of gerber files for this project, before I take the time to make them from the provided schematics. I don't do Facebook so I don't know if anyone has shared around a kicad/gerber file or anything.

The project is: https://github.com/rallepalaveev/Prodos-512kB-NVRAM-Drive

This would be really useful for me, I'm not out to make a bunch of them but a couple for personal use would be super useful. I already have all the ICs on hand I would think, so a few unpopulated PCBs is really all I need.

Plugged CGA monitor into IIe joystick port

Hello everyone,

I fear that I may have killed my apple IIe by plugging an IBM 5151 cga monitor into the game/joystick port. It no longer beeps, and the power led stays on. No video output. As to how this happened, I have an Apple IIe with a PC Transporter card from Applied Engineering. I plugged the monitor into the wrong port.

I've taken all of my expansion cards out, and measured resistance on all of the voltage rails to ground. The 12v rail had very low resistance (6.5 ohms), but raised to over 800 when I unpluged the keyboard.

Help wanted optimizing text adventure

Hi!  I am working on a text adventure for the C64, but, if I succeed, I want to port it to the Apple2.  As it is written in cc65 C and mostly text, it should be easy to port.  Now, I believe myself to be a good optimizer, but I'm looking for more optimizations.  I attached some code snippets from the text adventure.  If you want more information, just ask.

Dallas 1216E "no slot clock" issues

A few years ago I bought a few Dallas DS1216E clock modules.  Like this:

DS1216E module

They are direct replacements for the original SMT "No Slot Clock".  It goes underneath the CD ROM in the IIe or the CF ROM in the Platinum IIe, and under the system ROM in a IIc.

printtok-002.c/cc65 online: help needed

Hi!  I have printtok-002.c online.  It is a way to print token-compressed strings using my SimpleIO libraries.  It is at c65 additions - Manage /ui at SourceForge.net.  It's pretty good but has two problems: 1. poor compression ratio (it helped a text adventure's text by a little over 25%) and 2.

cc65 prging batch files for Windows/Template Creator

Hi!  I sometimes use Template Creator for Windows to create cc65 build batch files and ProDOS disk images for some of my cc65 programs.  I can publish these online if you want.  Also, I think Template Creator for Windows can help others here to do the same thing.  Template Creator is at tmpcreat - Manage Files at SourceForge.net.  Try it out!
