TWGS in slot 2?

Hey guys.  I recently acquired one of the ReactiveMicro TWGS cards, clocked at 16MHz.  It's pretty darn sweet.

However, there is a problem in the ribbon cable that goes between the card and the CPU socket.  Intermittent connection.  It works if I bend the ribbon cable a certain way, but it's not reliable.

ROMX

This is a continuation of the SMD ROM Replacement for Apple ][..." thread that was started 6 months ago. What started off as a simple way to have both Applesoft and Integer BASIC ROMs in a single, switched SMD Flash chip has blossomed into a full fledged multi-bank, in-circuit programmable device with multiple fonts, instant DOS/Language Card loading and much more. More importantly, versions for the Apple IIe and Apple //c are already in the design stage.

Identifying a //e Board

Hi,

I recently got a Apple //e for my collection. It is a European one (with the switch on the downside of the keyboard).

For informtion I looked thru the SAMS Apple //e and I realized that my board is not listed in there.

All boards have the AUX-slot on the left side beneath the PSU. Mine has the AUX-slot directly behind slot 3, so I cannot use this slot anymore when my 80cols/64kb extention card is pluged in. Also slotfinder lists the card as inserted in slot 3.

Do I have any special board or is this normal for european systems?

Fake Bell & Howell ?!

Please look at this:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Bell-Howell-Apple-II-Ships-Worldwide/193766606297?hash=item2d1d63c5d9:g:Kw4AAOSwB65fvmDk

To me, this looks fake. Looks as if someone painted a ][+ and put a B&H badge on it. Might be a real B&H beyboard, but from what I can tell the case looks like a rattle can paint job, the colour is wrong, the texture is wrong. Beyond that, there is no photo of the rear of the unit, nor a photo of the bottom serial sticker.

Didn't B&H also have their own PSU stickers?

Card Pile pickup, what is this card?!

Picked up a stack of 8 cards recently and in the pile is what looks like a generic floppy controller card. I cant seem to find much info on it, is anyone familiar with it? Its got two variable resistors and a jumperblock with an option to pick "13" or "16" Anyone know where I can find a pdf? Will it work with Disk II floppy drives or does it work only with a 3rd party drive?

Apple iic not formatting or duplicating disks

I recently purchased Goldstar  M-2D  5.25 floppies to format and make duplicates of my ProDOS System Utilities disk that came with the Apple iic. When I attempted to format the Goldstar blank disk, I received this message on the screen ( see second pic). Then when I was attempting to duplicate the Apple Utilities Disk, I received this message on the screen ( see first pic). I tried different blank Goldstar floppies, but they all ended up with the same result. Are these Goldstar disks bad or is there another issue?

Floppy Disk Labels with Good Adheasive?

So, like many here I imagine, I have labeled my floppy disks (both 5.25" and 3.5") with the labels that came with the disks and those are fine, but not easily run through a printer, and they have a certain look (usually with horizontal lines for hand writing above).  I have also tried to use printer-friendly label sheets to make nice typewritten/graphiced labels.   But the adheasive on those is terrible and they don't stick well to the plastic surfaces of the disk shells, especially the pebble-textured 5.25" floppies.Has anyone here found a good source of printable, high-adheasion labels th

IIGS - chirp sound when I shut off power supply

I have a IIGS ROM3 that makes a chirp sound from the power supply when I switch it off.  Otherwise, everything works fine.  Its a Dyna Comp LR62786 power supply shown here:

HFS reliability with GSOS

I seem to run into a lot of trouble with just basic file copies using HFS partitions.

Currently I'm organzing some images using GSPlus to burn back to a CF card.  I have various sizes (200MB, 2GB) of HFS partitions and while they seem to work at first, after a few minutes GSOS often complains the disk (image) may be "physically damaged" and can't complete the operation.

Usually there is a deletion involved when the errors start (empty trash or overwrite a file).

Apple iic not duplicating disks

I hope someone can help with this issue. My Apple iic will not make copies of the utilities disk or any of the AppleSoft disks. I was trying to copy the utilities to set the modem to 1200 baud as standard is 300 baud. I am using brand new double density Goldstar 5.25 floppies. When attempting to save, the monitor screen presents a strange image. Any thoughts? Thanks
