WTB KR9600-PRO

While I can't be 100% sure, it would seem having an AY-5-3600-PRO in a socket for a KR9600-PRO would not be a good idea. Never the less that's what I have and I'd like to put in the correct part before I continue troubleshooting this mobo.

Anybody got one?  Anybody know a reputible source (I've heard there are re-labled forgeries out there)

Oh and something that doesn't ship on the slow boat from China preferably... :)

Apple IIgs with bad onboard ram?

Hey guys! I have been getting more and more excited about Apple IIs for a bit and I finally broke down and bought a IIgs on Ebay. It arrived and I set it all up and played with it a bit today. Turns out it is a Rom 01 with a 1Meg memory expansion card. As I played with it I noticed two things:1) There is a line in the middle of this screen that shows up only when text or graphics other than the background color intersect it. It shows up on the RGB monitor as well as the composite port.

2) It crashes when loading some software.

Apple IIe (clone) problems

Hello there, this is my first post.

I have a Brazilian Apple IIe clone, named Tk-3000. It was produced in 1986 and worked fine for many years, up to a few years ago. The first problem was that the disk drives began to fail, but I could still boot to AppleSoft Basic (but that is not the topic for today). Then it started to show memory corruption and loss of video signal. I have been trying to troubleshoot it for a long time now, with no success, so I found this forum hoping someone could offer some advice.

Trackstar - Apple II clone on a PC ISA card - new website up

Hey guys,

Just a heads-up to let you know my Trackstar website is up, covering the E, 128 and also Quadram's Quadlink <-- These are all "Apple II on a PC ISA card" Apple II clones. Really cool little devices! If you own these devices, esp. the Trackstar E or Plus, there's HUNDREDS of disk images in its TrackStore format that I've converted manually. So you can download and enjoy a HUGE amount of software without needing real Apple II disks.

2gs programming

I'm thinking about learning assembly language to program a game, and I want to use the Apple 2gs. I've never really owned one, and only used it few times. I'm intrigued about its graphics and sound, and being able to use 16-bit registers. I'm used to programming in BASIC on Commodores, and would like to use a similar setup, but playing with a 2gs emulator, I'm a little confused.

Help Recognizing Apple II Logicboard

Hello,

Some weeks ago I adquire an Apple II motherboard, but not sure if is a clone or original Apple... some months ago a somekind was seen at eBay standing that was a Rev.04 motherboard. But in my board   820-0014-01 (Rev.01) is written Under the 6502.

  https://www.ebay.com/itm/1986-Vintage-Apple-IIe-Computer-Motherboard-820-0087-E-/183268201002?oid=332705431805

As it can be seen, serial numbers are the same.

I've attached some pictures for helping to identfy it.

Thanks.

How do you dump a ROM? (Character)

A link would suffice, I have this character ROM that I'm fairly sure is aftermarket. May be worthless but I thought it might be good to dump since I don't see any info anywhere.

Sticker on top says

(c)1984 CLSYSTEMS

MODEL:

SERIAL:

With ALA hand written somewhat beside both model and serial.

Just in case anyone recognises it.

Is it broken? Odd Platinum //e behavior

I have what appears to be a Platinum //e motherboard which I was assured worked by the ebay seller (we all know what that's worth)

  • Upon power up it displays this  https://imgur.com/a/vsIC3rF Every time. The image is stable. If I hit ctrl reset the screen changes randomly.
  • The board does NOT have an 80col card or any other card.
  • The Character ROM is this http://imgur.com/cPA4J6G

So before I pull out the scope and chase my tail:

Strange Character ROM connection

I've recently restored this Apple II+ Clone. It has a UM2316 as character ROM. The Chip itself is replaceable with a 2716 eprom. But none of the standard Apple II Character ROMs works.

The connection between the ROM and the 74166 totally diffrent from what it is in a regular II+.

Does anyone regognize this board? Are there any Informations / ROM images available anywhere?
