MCL65+ 6502 Drop-In CPU Accelerator for Apple II

Hi,

I thought I would share one of my recent projects, the MCL65+,  which is a drop-in 6502 CPU replacement board which can run either cycle accurate or in an accelerated mode. It uses a Teensy 4.1 microcontrtoller board which is similar to an Arduino, except much faster (600Mhz).

The MCL65+ PCB contains the Teensy and the required voltage-level buffers using through-hole logic to make it inexpensive and easy to produce.

Apple IIe Platinum motherboard recap?

Hi

I've just recapped the PSU on my Apple IIe platinum and I was wondering if I should also replace the axial caps on the motherboard? If so where can I get them at a good price since they are very hard to find and not cheap.

Thanks

Paulo

Possessed ][+ Mainboard

Here's an anecdote to take to the bank. I have a Rev D ][+ board that was previously damaged and malfunctioned. A while back, I restored it, tested it, did a full burn in, RAM tests, the lot, and it passed them all. I put it into a static bag and put it on a shelf.

5.25" drive works w/ADTPro but not GS/OS

I purchased a model A9M0107 5.25" drive off of eBay for my ROM03 IIGS. I've used ADTPro via serial to successfully write several disks, but GS/OS cannot read them. I'm using a box of Dysan 5.25" disks new old stock, shrink wrapped. Double sided, Double Density.

Best Openings for Micro-Chess 2.0; what is its ELO?

I have been experimenting with some modern openings with Micro-Chess 2.0, that tend to work very well with live play, but the software (from 1980) shocked me in finding creative logic branches to defeat or to blunt them.

I am curious if anyone has ever proven its ELO (per IQ setting) and what the best openings to use against its logic tree tend to be.

As far as I am aware, and the manual supports this, the user can never play as black, so this rules out some options.

Possible Apple IIe spanish ROM.

Hi everybody!I recently bought an Apple IIe with the "keyboard switch" underneath, spanish keyboard and -I guess, help me if I'm not correct- SPANISH video and keyboard ROM's. They are labeled "341-0155 revB" for the keyboard and the video ROM is "341-0165 revB" and is mounted in a small daugther board called "AIIE LANGUAGE ADAPTER" (820-094-A).

I would love to contribute this ROM's to the community since -and then again, this is a guess since I'm not expert-, I can't find any mention of them on the web, so I'm under the idea that are unusual or at least rare.

Hot DRAMs

Hey all, i have a apple 2+.  I am having an issue with the onboard DRAM on the motherboard.  I have noticed that all DRAM banks are heating up.  I have checked voltage at PSU, and they are within voltage spec (+-5,+-12).   I have tested the DRAMS with APEX diagnostic software and the results are the DRAMs are good (no bad chips). I have taken out all the DRAMs from the motherboard and filled up first bank, and this entire bank is heating up.  Any ideas on what to check?

2716 Char EPROMs

I seem to recall that 2716 char EPROMS worked on some revisions of the ][/+ mainboards. Which revisions support that? I do not recall offhand what was changed in the char ROM pimnouts.
