Apple RGB color Monitor for Apple IIgs modded from 110 to 220V

Greetings. I want to get an Apple RGB color monitor for my IIgs. They are very hard to find in the EU area, with EU 220-240V specs. So I was wondering, is it possible to get one meant for USA market, 110-120V spec, and mod it to 220-240V? What would that entail? I know I can use a step-down transformet but I would like to do a permanent internal mod. Is it possible? Are there any guides etc around? Thanks for your answers.

Making your Apple II useful as a *nix terminal

Hi all,

In my spare time, I've been messing around with getting my II+ talking with a Raspberry Pi running Raspbian (a Debian Linux distrib) as a terminal. To my surprise, I have actually carved out some success in doing so, despite the II+ being more or less barely able to do so.

Apple IIgs modem cable

I have what I believe is a null modem cable for my iigs. (It works with ADTPro) I got a modem that is 9pin. I can get this to work on my PC with a usb to 9 pin adapter. So I know the modem works.

As it is with the cable I have that is 8pin to db9 I cannot get the modem to work.

I want to build a cable that will connect to the null modem cable on the db9 side and re-wire it so it will work with the modem which is a db9 connector on it. It is a serial to wifi modem board.

Apple IIe ram issue

Hi, I have an unenhanced (I think) IIe with ram problems.

Booting with Closed Apple key pressed only shows "RAM:".

Shouldn't it display some numbers after RAM?

Microsoft Language Card

Hello group,I recently repaired a faulty Microsoft Language card that was locking the system up, reading disks incorrectly or not reading them at all. System worked fine with the card removed. The card had 3 bad TTLs. Both LS367s and the LS86. I replaced both tantilums as well. Now the card passed diagnostics and worked fine. Today I noticed it was doing the same thing it did before. Not loading programs correctly, locking the system up, intermittently not reading disks it just read. I removed the card and the system works fine.

Does Anyone Have a Spare Apple IIe Platinum Keyboard?

My Apple IIe platinum keyboard just failed on me. Does anyone out there happen to have a spare they'd be willing to sell me at a reasonable price? I'd really like to get back to gaming on my apple.

Are 8116 proper replacement of 4116 ?

Hey, quick one (for once)

In my Apple II Europlus i've got all RAM stock (with apple logo and copyright 1980)

Interestingly, one of them is not a 4116 but a 8116

According to specs, this is not a 12V/5V DRAM so I find it odd that it's mixed in the middle of 4116 from "the factory".

Could anyone more experienced than I am explain if these chips are indeed compatible/swapable ?

Apple IIc Plus A2S4500 Repair Help

I have an Apple IIc Plus A2S4500 that isn't booting.  I've spent about 10 hours on troubleshooting and I've reached a roadblock.

The 65c02 CPU isn't getting a clock signal.

Looking at the schematics, the clock signal is generated by the 84 pin Cache Glue Gate Array (CGGA) 344S0607-A at UD17 Pin 44.   There is no clock output generated.

I'm also not getting any putouts on OE (pin 12) and WE (pin 14), which I belive should be generated by the CGGA.

IIGS Speech Synthesizer

Does anyone know any specifics about the native IIGS speech synthesizer chip on the motherboard? I have two programs, Kidtalk and Smoothtalker that take advantage of this chip which basically work just like text-to-speech on macOS.

Specifically, I'd like to know where on the board it is as I suspect it may be faulty.

CP/M on Apple IIe

Does anyone here do anything with CP/M on a IIe anymore?I picked up the GGlabs card, and have it running. The floppyEMU works in dual 5.25 mode (only revC of floppyEMU supports dual 5.25 mode).

The only "good" disk images I have are the from the PCPI Applicard. There's really not a lot here other than the OS, drivers, and thankfully a utility to copy between DOS and CP/M volumes.

I'm curious if anyone has any other disk images that might work already.
