Apple II europlus memory problems

Folks, having fixed my machine by replacing row C with new memory chips I decided to try and figure out which chips out of all of the onces I extracted were bad. I have done this by dropping a selection of the previously extracted chips into row D and then running a memory test. The test fails as soon as it hits 16,384 (row C only) and the chips in row D start to get very hot. Tried different chips, same problem, same heat.

Apple II Educational Software for sale

I seem to remember another thread not too long ago where someone asked about Apple II educational software for sale.

Right now, sir_ghoul, who is an exceptional seller on eBay, has numerous titles for auction from MECC and other educational software publishers. All of his auctions start at only 99 cents and his shipping is reasonable.

For those of you in the market, he may have just the software you have been looking for.

On occasion, he also sets out some really good utilities, and other programs. I have been a satisfied customer for over a year.

5.25 disk problem

Well, this is my first post and first time on the forums, too bad it has to start with a problem Smile

Platinum 5.25 drive question

I am using an Apple IIc with an Apple drive model number A9M0107,yet am recieving problems.

Tested with the Apple IIc diagnostic disk, the Yo Yo Duck diagnostic disk, and the MECC diagnostic disk, all have claimed that the drive cannot read. My internal drive can read the same disks easily.

Problems include:

-The red "read" light perpetually staying on

-The Apple II displaying the "check disk drive" message when booting up with the external drive as the main drive.

-Occasional loud, grating sounds.

Apple ][ Europlus - Update - IT LIVES

10,000 thank you's to those on here (especially Amauget) who responded to my constant questions as I tried to get this machine to work. The final exercise was to extract all of the memory chips, replace row C with new chips from an Atari 16k card from ebay (sorry to the Atari), flicked the switch and it beeped for the first time in many years. No more hot ram and screen full of lines of characters, it was back to life (other than some lazy keys which seem to be resurrecting).

Just need to figure out which memory chips were bad and smash them with something heavy and blunt.

Virtually pristine Apple IIC with original boxes.....any interest?

Found this at an estate sale. Looks to be barely used. It has the main unit in the original Styrofoam, in the original box. All of the user manuals and Apple floppy disks are there. It comes with an additional external floppy drive, also in the original box. The monitor does not in include the original box. It is an incredible find in this condition. I thought I would let the enthusiasts know about it before I throw it up on eBay.
