Good evening,

I'd like an account to use the FTP server.

Re: Apple II FTP Server

I will go ahead and post the info on here, as there are several people who have requested it. I have had it down for awhile, but will bring it back online at about 11:30 pm eastern time tonight. I will not be home until then.

Here is the info:

url: k4lmp.serveftp.com
port: 6996
login: applefritter
pwd: @pplefr1tter

Note: that is a number one, not an i in the password.

I hope it is useful to everyone, feel free to use it all you want.

jeff

Re: Apple II FTP Server

Steven, I just logged into it from work, and it seems to be working OK. What FTP client are you using? Make sure it is set to passive, and the port settings are right. Also, make sure the username/pwd is correct. See note in the posting about the pwd. Hope this helps.

Re: Apple II FTP Server

I think that my problem is that I am trying to plug in the URL into Internet Explorer with a full URL:

http://www.k41mp.serveftp.com

Is that correct?

I tried it without the full URL and still have no joy.

What am I doing wrong? Smile

Re: Apple II FTP Server

Steven;

Trying to ftp through Internet Explorer is probably your only mistake.
Get something like Filezilla, and enter the address without any additional http or www prefixes. FTP is a separate protocol from HTTP. T'aint the same beast.
It can be accessed through most browsers, but it's much less complicated to use a dedicated ftp client.

Re: Apple II FTP Server

Try using ftp://k4lmp.serveftp.com:6996 instead of http://

You have to put the :6996 because I don't use the standard port 21 for security reasons.

An FTP client, as said, is the best way IMHO. I use Filezilla, as it is free and works great.

Heh. Too bad I could not find a copy of Mastertracks Pro iie in there.

It's like it has been erased from existence. Nobody has it. Sad

And yes, I know of the iigs version. I'm looking for the iie version.

Re: Apple II FTP Server

I have a copy of MasterTracks Pro.2mg, but I don't know what model it's for.
Compressed size is 364K, expanded is 800K.
PM me your email and I'll send it to you, unless you already know it's the wrong one.

If you don't mind, you could upload it to the upload section on my server, with a brief description and I will leave it on there for everyone to enjoy.

Thanks

Done, titled "master_tracks_pro.zip" but I didn't leave a brief description because I've not decompressed or used it. I've just retrieved it from my archives. It's in the "Upfiles" folder... Enjoy!

Your version is, as I have already guessed, is the iigs version which is very easy to find.

Any disk that's 800k is probably for a iigs. Long time ago, when I had a copy, I was using my 5.25 drives to run it. So what I am looking for is probably two or one 140k disk.

Re: Apple II FTP Server

I am away from home for awhile and the FTP server will be down. It will be back when I return home. Sorry for the inconvience.
