KF5SDR,
Congrats! You have the 2000th Post!
This is a milestone.
Has any other thread gone this high?

Here's another "..because Steve Jobs" special.
Can't wait to see what flunky is gonna spend $30,000!
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Early-1977-Apple-II-Rev-0-w-white-MOS-6502-Processor-no-plus-Mac-1-I-Steve-Jobs-/252414497861?hash=item3ac5139445:g:rfMAAOSwLnBXVEkx
Well, at least it is a rev 0. Somebody will probably offer 5 to 10K and get it.
Well my first observation is the CPU isn't correct, it's way too early for the Apple II. Plus it's not synertek.
The supply is not a toggle supply originally, looks like a toggle switch with washer.
If he can get 30k for this rev-0, I might part with one of mine in the future. But I doubt he will get this price. Maybe if it was sub 100 serial number with the original intact ventless case...
Cheers,
Corey
Hooray!
Did you see where it is located?
Hong Kong.
Steven
I'm pretty sure that is the correct toggle switch. Mine is only a few hundred later and looks the same:
http://moclips.net/miscwiki/images/1/1d/Apple2-toggleps.jpg
Looks like there is a small hole visible underneath the washer area like the switch is a retrofit. I haven't seen a non silk screen supply with a toggle so I don't know if that is normal.
The flat washer has a small tab that extends backwards and a key that fits into a groove in the switch turret to prevent rotation of the switch when the nut is tightened. That tab goes in that small hole. This is a common practice for the era.
Not all things that come from China/Hong Kong are fraudulent.
I stand corrected. So powersupply then is all original. Still not worth 30k.
No, not nearly. Maybe 1/6 of that.
This good condition, but not complete-in-box //e is going for $1,400.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Apple-IIe-Platinum-pristine-in-original-box-/252414883427?hash=item3ac5197663:g:1vUAAOSwnFZXVJ1J
Keatah,
Undoubtedly $200.00 of that is for shipping.
So let's say he has it for $1,200.00.
It's "used", no matter what he says.
I could see somewhere between $300.00 to $400.00,
but unless it's sealed, never been used.
I just cannot see it.
Just my opinion.
Steven
The seller is also a member of AppleFritter forums...
Its the same gentleman who sells Apple 1 replicas...

Should the plastic velcro snaps on the revision O, which is currently listed on eBay, have plastic rivets? I thought they only did that on the later Plus's?
Pick of the Day (so far):
http://www.ebay.com/itm/322144654934?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
I'm not sure if I've shown this before
but it's been listed several times and
no one has ran right out and bid on it.
I wonder why? lol
Steven
I am bummed!
Again, due to circumstances beyond my control,
I cannot attend Kansasfest 2016.
I have enough money set aside for one trip this year.
I can either go to Kansasfest,
or I can see my cousin in Colorado.
Normally this would be a no brainer,
But my Cousin has terminal Cancer and only has a few months
left, so yes, I would love to be at the fest, but
My cousin Butch is much more important.
So someone who goes, please tell Mike Harvey "Hello" from me.
I have never met him, But maybe someday I will get lucky.
He has given many people many hours of enjoyment with Nibble.
Steven
Good Evening All,
It has now come to this:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/361599150087?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
The $99.99 Cardboard Box!
Remember the $100K "Gem" Software?:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/322153844335?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
This is something new to eBay
and I was considering making an offer
as O think $400.00 is a bit steep:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/112029664360?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
I could be wrong...
Steven
I spoke to the owner. He said that at some point they replaced the case, but he has the original case stored away and it will be included in the sale.
So your memory is correct, the velcro snaps should NOT have the plastic rivets for a system of that age.
Jennifer
Your referring to this Auction:
Early 1977 Apple II Rev 0 w/ white MOS 6502 Processor no plus Mac 1 I Steve Jobs???
So they still have the Un-Vented Case?? That would Push Up the Value, quite a bit....
MarkO
MarkO,
Did they actually use the White MOS 6502 chips in the earlier Apple II's?
Steven
Note to all:
I will be in Colorado next week.
I hope to use my cousin's computer
to peruse eBay and all points
for more Laughable items.
Bon voyage... Steven....
I wish you and your cousin best at your visit
sincerely
SpeedyG
Mark, I did not think the unvented cases made it into the 1100 range of serial numbers. 2006 is the lowest serial rev 0 i ever had so I'm not sure when the transition from ventless to vented cases happened but 1144 seems kind of high to still be using those cases. I'm sure someone else here knows better than I.
Zan
Not Sure.. I would guess it was replaced...
I Blew Up the SID Chip on my Commodore SX-64, so it's been replaced...
MarkO
I don't know either....
( But I sure would like too... )
MarkO
This is an Apple II forum. Why bother posting laughable Mac (and other platform) auctions.
Sean,
I can stop posting Mac's if you would like.
I assume that most of the folks may also be into
Mac's, which is why I have posted them.
Steven
Nah, no worries. I'm not the boss of you or a moderator here.
Vaguely remember seeing one in an early II (sub-100 SN) No word if that was the original factory cpu or not.
The accepted "lore" is that it's only the first 100 cases are ventless, or less... right? It was quickly changed because the original ones warped from the heat.
That's what I understand.
Steven
Good Evening All,
Here is something new:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/131862003776?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
Why a IIc Plus would be so much is beyond me.
Steven
If I can buy a complete Apple II Plus for
between $125.00 and $150.00, why am I
(or anyone else for that matter) going to
spend $149.99 for just a keyboard?
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Genuine-Apple-II-Plus-II-Keyboard-605-4118-0-Tested-Working-/391498362158?hash=item5b271eed2e:g:rfoAAOSwEjFXeF-B
The same with a II Plus Motherboard:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Apple-Computer-Vintage-A-II-Motherboard-nice-cond-tested-good-820-0001-07-1979-/391498364377?hash=item5b271ef5d9:g:IC0AAOSwRQlXeGJc
Doh!
Steven
Hello Steven,
at least the guy with the keyboard is probably speculating
on that guys that have a Apple-1 relica and are hunting badly for a keyboard
instead of buying a cheap clone..... ?
speedyG
Speedy,
After all this time I guess anything is possible. lol
But here is another attempt at selling a IIe for an outrageous price:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/172262154906?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
I figure it must be made of Gold.
Steven
More like fool's gold.
Just when you thought you'd seen it all:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/291810536205?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
Just a bit steep.
and then this:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/162126219217?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
An empty case?
Steven
Although it is way more than I would pay, I suspect that price is not laughable for a Transwarp II. Somebody will probably buy it.
Publish-It is $795, the IIc Plus is just a bonus.
Our friend boca-raton (you remember, with the $4000 IIe) is back with (sorry Sean Fahey!) the $1650 Macintosh SE.
No, it's not a tempest mac, doesn't have the 040 accelerator plus external scsi drives with portrait display card and ethernet (trying to think of all the things combined that MIGHT get it to $1650)
It's just an SE.
Vintage Macintosh SE

"Note the 16k RAM configuration blocks on the motherboard which were only found on original Apple II motherboards and do not appear at all on any II Plus motherboards."
I really like that quote. That"s a classic!!
Good Evening All,
Here are two more examples of outrageous prices for Apple IIe units:
1: "Lots of extras"
http://www.ebay.com/itm/191918891315?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
2. Comes with two Disk Drives and a Monitor (Wow!)
http://www.ebay.com/itm/172269393873?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
$900.00 for a $40.00 to $60.00 IIe???
I'm sorry, I just don't get it.
Here's one for the road...
http://www.ebay.com/itm/391504172063?euid=d6e2f8b5a65247c58d5e6e432e0f1376&bu=43192738989&cp=1&sojTags=bu=bu
Why am I going to pay that price for just a motherboard, when I can get the whole computer for the same price range?
Steven
First now there is a graphics tablet ready to move at $150. It has no software or owner's manual. I'm surprised, because these rarely move at even 100$ complete. In reality this should be selling for $500 or more. Back in the day they were like $700 and uber elite. No one had them or sold them..!
http://www.ebay.com/itm/112052257417
I learned from the auction text that the FCC made them stop making these because of RF interference. And that'd make sense, this is basically a big-ass coil of wire. A big-ass antenna. And that'd make sense.
And when the hell is the Hayes MicroModem (with MicroCoupler) going sell for above $30-$40 ?? C'mon folks! This is early telecommunications history!
Cheribly's back with round of $1,000 games, individual and in baggies. And some sets going for $3,000. They didn't sell last year. The $40,000 bundle didn't sell. I wonder what will sell this week?
LOL Yep, I saw that.
Every time she shows back up the prices seem
to get a little lower than the last time.
I'm beginning to see a bit of a trend on games.
The prices are fluctuating, but they seem to be
getting just a bit lower overall.
Of course I could be wrong.
Steven
Speaking of outrageous prices for IIe units... how about $5499 for an Apple IIe in unopened box (except that it was opened for inspection)...
http://www.ebay.com/itm/1984-Apple-IIe-Computer-31-YEARS-OLD-BRAND-NEW-IN-BOX/232001170578?_trksid=p2045573.c100034.m2102&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D35375%26meid%3D2ad269cb82c446ae94860dd99955db37%26pid%3D100034%26rk%3D3%26rkt%3D8%26sd%3D302012608784
Yep....
spend 5000 bucks and ignore the water damage indicated by the box ???
LOL!
30,000 for a standard run of the mill II (not plus) ??
Wonder which flunky is gonna buy it now?
