Boletus,
Yep and the one for $2,666 is "Remanufactured" so it's not all original.
I guess this might bring up the question I've had on my mind...
If a seller on ebay is selling an item that has been "Recapped",
is that unit still original?
Hmmmm. All input on this question welcome. lol
Does a box and a "sealed manual" constitute a $145.00 (plus S&H) price tag for a 3.5" 800k drive?
http://www.ebay.com/itm/162137030379?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
Is a Platinum IIe worth $450.00 (Plus $S&H)?
http://www.ebay.com/itm/162137306730?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
The seller thinks they are.
I have asked him/her nicely on several occasions about his/her pricing,
and all it got me was blocked from bidding on his/her auctions.
I guess that's what I get for asking.
Steven
Then the seller is clearly a time traveler from the past. Perhaps 20 years ago.
Burning bridges is never a good business decision lol! And they blocked you just because you told them their stuff is over priced?!
Only time I block bidders is when they leave too many negatives.
I think I got blocked too! Woot!
And at the same time I can't point these auctions out to buyers looking for xyz piece of software.
Since when has a iie sell for $1,000.....
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Apple-IIe-2e-BOXED-in-NEW-CONDITION-Monitor-2-Drives-TESTED-/232011203351?hash=item3604f20317:g:IZwAAOSwanRXhdze
PINKBOY1006,
LOL!!!
They usually don't.
That's why this thread exists, to show
the kinds of prices people ask for Apple stuff.
Steven
And yet another $1k IIe:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/302015457288?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
Ya just gotta love it.
And Belbelbel is bababack:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/172275336941?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
Steven
Well if I was Belbelbel, I would come back too. If I remember correctly, he sold that Apple II revision 2 for over $9,000.
You will definitely get a chuckle from this one:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/311658097296?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
The last time I looked, a II Plus was going for between $90.00 and $140.00 depending:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/262528841879?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
I'm not even going to show the $100.00 Mother Boards.
Steven
I'm more concerned that the original air from the factory wafted its way out. I mean the cardboard is, like, Pfffftthhhtt! Who cares about that?!?!
You have to read the entire Description of this item
in order to get the Full Flavor of this sellers insanity:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/322195673840?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
I was speechless. lol

The graphics tablet traded hands for only $257. There were a few last minute attempts at sniping. I was hoping it would go for a lot more. Eh.. maybe I'm over-fixated on these because they were uber professional and totally unobtainable as a kid.
TRIVIA: Blazing Paddles (relatively modern software) works with this very nicely!
Good Morning All,
And (believe it or not) it is a great morning
as I plucked this beauty from eBay last night:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/182208388522?_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
An AE Transwarp GS for $265.00?
Unheard of. I didn't think that
it would go for that low a price.
I am a Happy Camper.
Steven
From that same seller I was trying to get the cffa 3000 card, but it ended up going over $200 witch is outrageous.
Nice deal! It even has a 32k cache board! I wonder if the lack of international shipping made it cheaper?
Transwarp,
I'm not sure.
I don't think it would have been too much more than the $7.95 from California.
Then again...
Steven
I should have been clearer, I was meaning there would have been more bids if the seller had offered international shipping.
I paid maybe $50 less, but that was a decade ago.
Good Evening Ladies and Gentle peoples!
Here are the most Laughable of the day:
A regular II Plus:

Yes. You just gotta love it.
Steven
gotta love the stock photo, it just puts the price at home.
I also like the reference "Steve Jobs was an Artist", when Steve Jobs had already left Apple by the time the IIgs was released and probably had very little (if anything at all) to do with the IIgs.
Cheers,
Mike
They Can't be serious!?!?:

Wow.
Steven
"I am also including a printout of the owners manual"
For $1500? I have no words.
And... It's Gone.....

My apple ii follow on ebay paid off.

and on the other end of the spectrum,
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Early-Apple-II-E-IIe-Computer-1982-with-multiple-cards-/252476806201?
In regards to MB pricing, the asking prices of individual chips (6502, 4116, A2(+)ROM's) on eBay is more then an MB in some cases.
Which sometimes justifies buying the MB to have some spares as the parts get more scarce and pins get brittle especially the Integer ROM's which I have seen current asking prices of $39.99 to $49.99 per chip plus shipping.
At least there are other places on the web were the prices are more realistic.
Of course depending on the application using 2716's with adapter sockets / carriers can suffice but then its not "original".
Here is the ImageWriter II Printer:

Same Seller. Two separate items.
I just cannot wrap my mind around it. lol
Steven
Does anyone recognize this keyboard as being used on an Apple I?:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/262558466711?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
That item is fraud. Seller is posting an item that was never produced for an Apple 1. Bad Seller.
Macnoyd,
Well, I didn't use those exact terms, but I did say that I thought he was mistaken.
Before I went any further, I wanted to be sure by getting the opinions of
the knowledgeable folks here.
Steven
I believe a slight variant of this was produced for the Ti-99/4A in 1980 or 1981. And what would ALPHA LOCK be doing on an Apple I keyboard?
Keatah,
LOL!
I haven't the foggiest notion.
Steven
Hello Keatah,
don't forget: the Apple-1 was always sold as a set of 1 mainboard
and transformers only !
The customer had to purchase his keyboard and TV-monitor extra.
The only point to claim a keyboard as to be sold in set usual,
was one of the keyboards availiable at the byte shop generally.
But that keyboards usually never had Capslock due to the fact
that the Apple-1 only had uppercase availiable.

Why I'm glad I'm spending more time in the 35mm photography hobby and not the Apple II collecting hobby:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Apple-IIe-EMPTY-BOX-Vintage-Rare-/172278008025
That 6-color apple logo just breeds some kind of rabid fanaticism that you just don't see in the world of Pentax and Nikon. Thank god.
Plus the 35mm cameras are genuinely useful in all sorts of situations... can't always say that about Apple II these days...
Right now, this is the absolute *worst* time to be buying Apple II junk from eBay.
Collecting Apple stuff is like collecting anything else - it can reach a level of impractical fanaticism, and worse. At that point the fun of using the computer is long gone and it becomes all about chasing something you don't understand anymore.
Nikon for the win!
David and Keatah,
I hear you.
I'm still going through things to place up on eBay.
Before I do though, I'll let folks here know.
The "Regular" Sellers are going to get a huge dose
of reality when my items start at way lower prices than theirs.
Steven
I'll probably just dump more of my extraneous material on ebay and let the market sort it out. Either way, it'll be be cheaper than what current sellers are asking for.
Well I just had to get that rant out of my system.
I too have been dumping inexpensive Apple wares, though not so much on eBay, but mostly on sites like 68kmla.org that have a little forum for trading/exchanges. Lots of give-aways too.
I wish there were people close by I could give my extra things to, because the whole business of finding a taker and packaging it for shipment is a real job!
Good Evening All,
Here is a listing of the Highest Price Units on eBay:
Apple IIe:
http://www.ebay.com/sch/Computers-Tablets-Networking/58058/i.html?_from=R40&_dcat=162075&Model=Apple%2520IIe&_nkw=apple+IIe&LH_PrefLoc=1&_sop=16
Apple IIc:

Apple II + (Plus):
http://www.ebay.com/sch/Computers-Tablets-Networking/58058/i.html?_from=R40&_nkw=apple+II+Plus&LH_PrefLoc=1&_sop=16
As you can plainly see there are many Over Priced units.
It remains remarkable. lol
Steven
Really?:

Even the Shipping is outrageous.
Steven
LOOK StEvE jObS!!!!!!
The World Needs More $12.49 Wrenches...
Vintage Apple Computer Logo Wrenches for Apple II, lot of 4
MarkO
MarkO,
LOL
Yep. I laughed when I saw them come up.
Someone else had about 10 of them he
wanted over $100.00 for.
Insanity.
Steven
Those Apple Computer Logo Wrenches are terrible.
I use a spinner handle and a socket.
In fact, this combination works so well that I have to limit the force I use with it or those metal jackscrew standoffs (you know, the #4-40 size) will break in two.
Good Evening all,
The $5,000.00 Poster is back again:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/152219845176?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
This is the 4th or 5th time for this one.
I asked for the Motherboard Serial Number for this Apple II,
but so far have received no reply:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/351818184908?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
If I can buy an Apple II Plus for under $150.00,
why am I going to spend $149.00 for just a Keyboard?:

Another $800.00 II Plus:

You know, I could do a bunch of these with a Stamping Machine or a Pantograph
and no one would know the difference. lol
Steven
"Own your very own piece of early Apple history! This is an Apple IIe / Black "Darth
Vader" model for Bell and Howell. Appears all here but untested as I have no idea what to
do with this thing... LOL - The extra cool comes from still being in the OEM packaging -
bag, foam and original shipper carton are all present. This is a rare opportunity so
don't let it get away - especially at this price. "
I promise you half the stuff is missing. The unit will likely need a good cleaning and
restore. Needs a new label plate. And the box isn't the correct one anyways. A
semi-custom II+ in a //e box? No value in that.
They have no idea what to do with the thing... LOL - you bet they picked it up for like
$5.00 and are now flipping on fleabay.
And finally they tack on the word JOBS. Like there's some mystical value by associating
it with a dead man. It's all about creating things and value in your head.
I wonder which flunky'll buy it?
"1985 Vintage Novation AppleCat Apple-Cat II
super modem for Apple IIe and II+"
I always wanted a "super modem".. you know?
While 800 is high, I might offer 400 or so for it because it looks un-used.
