CFFA3000 v1.0 Rev C - Remote question

I see that the remote for the CFFA 3000 is included when a CFFA3000 is purchased. Does anyone use one of these remotes? If so, what are the benefits of using one?

Thank you!

I have the remote on mine.

I have the remote on mine.

The CFFA3000 remote offers a way to change the currently mounted virtual diskette image in either of the virtual Disk II drives. Each push of a button mounts the next disk in the associated Disk II drive if more than one disk had been chosen on the Disk II assignment screen. The cable between the CFFA3000 and the remote must be oriented so that pin1 on the remote is connected to pin 1 on the CFFA3000 card. On the remote, pin 1 is the leftmost pin on the board.

Hope this helps

Bill

If any of you know, I am

If any of you know, I am curious about two things in connection with the CFFA3000:

1. Every time I reboot the system/card it says “Previous clock installed!” … what does this mean and how can I prevent this error message? Is it an error message?

2. Since the card boots directly to the “BITSY BYE” UI, pressing TAB doesn’t switch to the USB card that I have plugged in… how can I switch to access the data on the USB drive (formatted FAT, 1GB).

The CFFA3000 card is in SLOT 7.

Thanks y'all!

It means that you have attempted to run whatever "clock.sys" file that drives your clock more than once.

Booting to Bitsy-Bye is a product of ProDOS 2.4.2.  Earlier versions of ProDOS had a different file chooser.

If you don't want to boot to Bitsy-Bye, then have another .sys file high enough up in the catalog so that ProDOS runs it instead.

Selecting the USB stick is done in the CFFA-3000 internal menu (Pressing "M" on powerup if I recall)  It's been a while.

More likely, you have more than one clock driver in the root directory and when the second one tries to run it puts up that message.
