Imagewriter 2 with and apple IIe?

I just bought an apple IIe at a thrift store. There was an imagewriter 2 printer on the shelf next to it. The printer's plug was circular, with several prongs inside. I could not find a matching socket on the back on the IIe. Am I correct in thinking that this printer is incompatable with the IIe, or should I go back and buy it. Thanks.

Borked drive

Recently I took apart my //e's "DuoDisk" drive (or something like that, it has two drives in one enclosure) to unjam drive #1 (drive #2 was already shot) after unjamming it (actually the drive belt had come off) and putting it back together, I hooked it up to my //e and powered on. at first it was working okay, but suddenly it crashed, displaying random characters and beeping. (I swear im not making this up) after a few seconds, the drive started to smoke!!! I unplugged the //e and the drive.

IIe card serial?

I recently bought a IIe LC card for just a few dollars, yet to use it though. Surprised to read that it should work on a Performa 6200, it being PPC and all - I guess the PDS slots must happen to be the same. Good deal, as my first Mac, a 6200, is still waiting for me in storage.

Worst (or most interesting) thing(s) you ever found inside an Apple II Computer

I was over in another forum where the discussion was around
the worst or most interesting things ever found in a Mac
Computer. Some real strange stuff there! I thought it might
be neat to start a similar thread here fo the Apple II folks.

I got an old Apple IIe from a surplus outlet that had a
mouse nest in it. BIG one! The computer worked, though. It
needed a thorough cleaning and the keyboard cable had to be
replaced as the insulation on a couple of leads was chewed.

Tape Drive

Could anyone give me step-by-step instructions on how to take a tape recorder and hook it to an Apple II+ so I could save BASIC programs on it? I have never had a real Apple II with a tape, or disk drive. Thanks!

Apple II SCSI Card - some help

I recently bought a Apple II SCSI Card (Rev. C) for my ROM1 IIgs. But it's not compatible with most SCSI devices that I've tried, and I was wondering if anyone out there can help me out.

Are there any modern SCSI HDDs that this card will work with? If so, let's hear some model numbers. So far the only drive I've found that doesn't cause my IIgs to hang on powerup is a 15-year-old Quantum Prodrive LPS. I worry about the integrity of the media on HDDs that are 15 years old.

Apple IIe Card - Some Help

Hi,

I just recently obtained LC III with Apple IIe card.
I got it running and managed to transfer some of my old Prodos 3.5 and 5.25 disks to the HD Prodos partition.
My problem is that when transferring files downloaded on eMac with USB disk drive, none want to work
on the Apple IIe. Unfortunately, the manual for the card is too old to cover G4 systems Smile
I need help on how to download the files on eMac and then transfer them via 3.5 disk to LC.

Using Apple Basic for math

I was fooling around on Apple Basic today and I noticed that if you type print and a simple equation, such as 2+2=4 and it can tell you if it is right. For example if you type print 3+2=5, it replies "1" because it is correct. If you type print 2+2=5, it replies "0" because the equation is incorrect. Does anyone know if Basic can be used for complex Algbraic equations with variables?
