Orange Micro Grappler+ Connection to Modern Printers

I'm in the process of resurrecting an Apple II+, and I have everything working including memory expansion and 80-column cards and two disk drives. All that's left is an Orange Micro Grappler+ card. I want to use it to connect to a modern printer that has a USB 2.0 connection. Does anyone know if this is possible and, if so, how to do it?

cc65/ProDOSi: Error #64 loading stub in Apple2Enh program

Hi!  I'm currently working on debugging my AdvSkel65 program.  Right now, there are two bad bugs with it: 1. most 128k ports seem to execute the wrong verb, and 2. the Apple2enh ports are having problems loading a low memory stub: I'm getting the monitor just after the stub was supposed to load.  Debugging code reveals gthat I'm getting error #64: Invalid Path.  When I look at the disk image with CiderPress, the path seems correct.  The path is "/PRODOS203/LOWMEM," and I attached the image.  I don't understand why I'm getting that.  :(  Any advice would be helpful.

Apple IIc A2M4050 5.25” drive issue LED

Hi all,

I did a basic google search and came up empty on this topic. My A2M4050 Drive LED light for reading and writing disks does not work. The drive itself DOES work in terms of reading and writing disks without issue. I'm not sure if it is just a bad LED or if there is an issue with the circuit itself.

At what temperature does an Apple III "overheat?"

I'm wondering: does anyone know what the approximate internal temperature of an Apple III would be during one of it's infamous "overheating" scenarios? It's widely accepted that early Apple III's would overheat after some period of usage, but I can't find any indication of just how hot they actually got inside.

If anyone has any knowlege or references on this topic, I'd be grateful!

Franklin Ace 1000 - Boots to garbage screen

I am working on a Franklin Ace 1000 Apple ii+ clone that I picked up recently. While I have successfully repaired several other systems, I have never owned or worked on an Apple or clone system previously. Before booting it, I installed a new power supply from ReActiveMicro which seems to be working perfectly although 5v is a bit low at 4.77v. The system boots to a "garbage" screen. It generally displays a similar pattern to the first screen shot below but often there are random characters (sometimes blinking) scattered across the screen. There is no beep on boot.

Problems with CFFA3000 v1.0 Rev C

Hello all,

I am having a problem I hope someone can help me with. I have a CFFA3000 v1.0 Rev C that I successfully installed in my Apple IIe Platinum back in 2018. I have recently wanted to get back into my retro Apple computing, and unfortunately, I can not get the card to boot, or even get into the menu.

Capturing Disk ][ data signals using logic analyzer

Hi,

I've got a logic analyzer hooked up to disk ][ card to capture the read signals when the machine boots Dos 3.3.  I want to turn the read signals into actual 1's and 0's so I can feed them to my program that decodes the disk data; the latter part I have already finished.

I was wondering if anyone can offer advice on coverting the timing signals into actual 1's and 0's.  One question I have is, there seems to long gaps between signals, do I treat those as zeros or after a maximum of two zeros, ignore until the next read pluse?

Apple II+ 80 column card

Hello again,

Since I got some great advice about getting a 16K Language Card, I thought I would ask about an 80 column card for the Apple II+.

It looks like there are very few out there, but I'm seeing ones for the Apple IIe. Is anybody making these and selling them? You can buy so many other parts new, I'm wondering if there are any 80 column cards out there. Because E-Bay is looking pretty slim.

Apple2/cc65 printer support?

Hi!  I created a program called MadLibApple.  It currently has only eight stories.  I need to add more but am currently not up to it.  :(  Now, I want to add both save and printer support.  For save support, I can use ProDOSi.  What about printer support?

My Apple II Rev.0 4116 memory replacement failure

I'm trying to determine what cause brand new 4116 chips from Jameco to fail immediately on the intial power up.  I had found that after my Rev.0 sat for 8 years, when I powered it up the PSU had died.  I had a spare Apple IIe Astec PSU so I installed it.  I reseated the CPU and many of the other chips, but not all.  I had all good voltages and all good clock signals.
