Apple II

help with keyboard problem

So I have a II+ and the keyboard was mostly working but there were a few keys that would either not work, repeat, or just occasional work.

I dripped a few drops of deoxit down the plungers and all the keys that were not working started working. Next I recapped the power supply and the computer boots but none of the keys are working but the power light is working on the keyboard.

Where should I start troubleshooting ? Keboard encorder or system board?

What should I be looking for?

My //c is back and I want to keep it that way!!!!

To recap:  The voltage regulator on my //c died and fried the fuses in both the PSU and the motherboard.   I spent about a month or so trying to trace the faults, found several, but not all.  So I replaced the regulator!  So now my //c is back and running!!! :-D

M&R Enterprises Sup'R'Terminal 80 column card

Hello,

I have an Apple II M&R Enterprises Sup'R'Terminal 80 col card which doesn't work. I type pr#3 and there is no output signal to the monitor (lcd).

I have checked the eprom and 6845 crtc chip which are fine. Does anyone have any schematics that I could use to trace through the circuits ?

The 2114 ram is also fine.

Thanks

Andy

Disk II extender cables

I use my  Apple IIe computer only intermittently, storing it away much of the time, and didn’t want to have to repeatedly remove and reinstall the disk controller card or disconnect and reconnect the cables for my two Disk II 5.25” floppy disk drives.  I thought about making some drive extender cables but then happened to run across these Disk II drive extender cables on eBay.  They’re 7” ribbon cables with the proper connectors on each end.  The instructions emphasize that care must be taken in plugging them in to avoid damage to the drives, something I’m all too well awa

Amdek video S-500

A little tangential to Apple IIs, but related.  I have an Amdek Video S500 Amber CRT  (always wanted one as a kid in the '80s).

It "works", but the image is soooooooo faded.  Even with brightness and contrast turned up full, the image will be there for maybe 30 seconds, but very dim and then fade away.

Anyone ever fixed a CRT?  Based on some Googling,  I am suspecting the fly back transformer (is that the right name)?

Apple II Paddle Connector - BROKE!

It had to happen after 40 years; the pin on the paddle connector broke off.  And, it wasn't one of the "NC" pins; it was the +5 pin.

I've considered chopping the connector off and soldering the leads to a 16-pin DIP component connector.  Or, if the leads are the right gauge, crimping them in a ribbon cable connector.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Paul

What is a REPEATERRRR and a SCOOTER II?

So I just bought an Apple II Plus and it has a couple of unusual add-ins

The first one is the REPEATERRRR card that was attached to the keybord decoder and had a wire to pin 1 on the 74LS251 cip located below mthe Game I/O port. I tried to Google this card but didn't finda any thine useful. Ther is a company name in the top right corner that HOME and the letter O has a lighting bolt on it.

CP/M on the microsoft softcard

I have a question about CP/M usage and boot floppies on the Apple II using a microsoft softcard. I remember on other CP/M based systems there were commands to transfer the CP/M boot sector to any disk and make it bootable. I am unfamiliar with doing this on an APPLE II running CP/M. Can someone help me with this?
