SVA 'ZVX4' 8-inch disk controller card?

Does someone here in the group has the SVA (Sorrento Valley Associates) ZVX4 disk controller card for 8" disk drives?  If so, I am hoping to get the firmware code off of the card.   This would be the code present at $cX00-cXff (X being the slot it's located in) as well as the switched-in card expansion ROM area at $c800-$cffe.

Apple ][ slot extender

I have found that the slot extenders for the Apple 2 have been out of stock for some time now.

So I designed a PCB with Kicad and had 5 cards made by PCBWAY .

All worked well but the card edge to fit the slot was a little to short at each end and whilst it was electrically sound did not sit well with me as a finished product.

So a second version has been run up in Kicad and hopefully the card edge to slot will now be a snug fit.

Whilst I do not intend to sell any of these slot extenders, I will make the Kicad files avaiable on GitHub if any one is interested?

Apple II Custom Bootloader

Hello All,

to continue the series around the smartloader for the smartdiskII,

Currently, I am leveraging Prodos 8 to start my compiled code.

I guess i do not need to have the full version of prodos and my objective is to gain loading time.

What I have in mind, is to have a custom version of DOS with only RWTS and my program to use basic RWTS routines.

Where do I need to write my program in the disk to only have RWTS and then jump to the start of my program ?

Apple II soft reset detection on DISK II

Hello all,

I have added a menu loader to the SmartDisk II (stm32 floppy emulator), and it is working great,

I would like to detect an Apple II soft reset on the Smartdisk II and my approach would be to count the step motor phase reinit, but it is a bit dirty,

Is there a better way to detect a soft reset on the Disk II interface ?

Thanks

Vincent

Component ID for blown ?capacitor?

Hi,

I'm just getting started trying to restore an Apple IIe. I replaced the powersupply with one from ReactiveMicro, and when I turned it on I got a sickly sweet smell which I'm guessing means something blew on the motherboard.I haven't done any multimeter or oscilliscope testing but this component looks blown so I'll try to get a replacement before starting troubleshooting further. Can anyone provide an ID? TIA!

where is the RTC chip on IIGS logic board?

Reactive Micro identifies the Apple part number as 344-0040, but I was unable to locate it after a coarse search of the board.

Has anyone encountered this issue before or can point me in the right direction?

Sometimes when I start the computer I'm getting this startup screen

Anyone using BMOW Yellowstone 3.5 drive controller for Apple Pascal

I would like to run Apple Pascal on my Apple II+ computer with a 3.5 drive. I like the amount of storage and speed of the 3.5 drive when I run Apple Pascal on my Apple IIgs. I'd like to try it with my Apple II+. I'm not sure if the BMOW Yellowstone card supports Apple Pascal with a 3.5 drive with an Apple IIgs+. Has anyone tried this?
