Apple II

Seeking advice re: video card

Hello again. The only thing goofy on my IIe is the video jack, which is kind-of twitchy. The display gets fuzzy sometimes, and I found if I shift the cable at the jack, it fixes it. I have switched out the cable for a new one, which leaves the jack itself as the main suspect.

Apple II+ production numbers?

I'm sure this topic has been covered before, although searching forums here didn't pull it up for me. Does anyone know approximately how many II+ units were made? It seems like there is some confusion out there -- the later dot matrix labels seem to end in the high 500,000s, but there are a few with earlier style labels in the 1000000s. Kind of confusing. I'm just wondering how close to end of production mine (SN: 588366) is.

Apple II+ flaky on loading

Hey guys,

I have a very late II+ (sn 58xxxx). For some time I had been under the impression certain games, etc., would not work on it at all due to its age or limitations. However, when I got my Rev 02 Apple II, I discovered this software worked on it. So I figured a II+ ought to be more capable than a Rev 02 and ought to run the same software.

I apologize in advance if the info has been posted.

I need sources for rubber feet for Apple IIgs monitor, IIgs, 3.5 drive, 5 1/4 drive, Disk ][, Apple IIe. I think that's all Smile

Any help appreciated.

Unusual Apple II Europlus - clone?

Not sure if anyone has caught this, as it is on eBay Australia: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Apple-II-Europlus-vintage-computer/222010096662

The price is a little high for me so I initially ignored it, but on second glance it looks really unusual. Note the keyboard including numeric pad, and the odd inset area on the case. In fact the case looks like a genuine Apple example at first glance but clearly is not.

Logic board definitely looks like a clone, with clone power supply (AT?)

Floppy disks made in 'Tiawan'

I had to laugh at myself. I bought ten Electronic Arts floppy disks off eBay for a good price, still sealed. 'High Quality Magnetic Media', 'Japanese Media' etc, should be pretty good!

Then I saw the typo on the spine. Not sure where 'Tiawan' is but I'm pretty sure these are knock-offs in a fancy cardboard case.

My Apple IIe BBS

I have got my Apple IIe BBS on-line, running GBBS Pro (modified) and connecting via Raspberry Pi at a whopping 2400 baud (the fasted GBBS Pro supports as far as I can tell).

I added a GUEST account (no password) if anybody wants to check it out without going through the user registration process.

It is dura-bbs.net port 6359. I chickened out of using the default port 23. Smile

Apple IIe w. Uthernet II card - ADTPro system hang

Dear folks,

I'm using a Uthernet II card installed at slot 7 of my Apple IIe which works fine with Contiki.
When using ADTPro and selecting the (E)thernet connection the system seems to start loading the necessary bin file

"STARTING ADTPROETH.BIN ..."

and after some seconds Drive 2 starts spinning and stopping but then the system hangs.

Apple IIe Help

I'm brand new to old Apple computers and I was wondering about an Apple II I have just brought. When I startup without a disk it just says Apple II no cursor or anything according to the original manual. Do I need a DOS 3.3 disk to install or? Also I've got a text card in the AUX slot but when I launch specific programs it says it requires 128KB ram but also according to the manual I've apparently got 128KB does this mean that the ram chips have failed? Thanks
