Apple II

My latest Apple II toy: original Visicalc!

Snagged an early working original (with the brown folder, instruction book etc). This is the early Personal Software version before the company was renamed Visicorp.
And the disk still boots up on the Apple ][ non-plus perfectly!

Newbie question: ADT, Chicken vs. Egg problem

Hey folks, former Apple IIe owner (bought one in 1982)... now getting back into it. I have been reading about using ADT to transfer .dsk images to the Apple, and all the directions say at some point, "Run ADT on the Apple." How do I get ADT running on the Apple if all I have is a .dsk image of it... see the problem? Do I need to buy it on 5.25" floppy first? If so, where can I do that.
Thanks!

ADTPro IIgs question

Hello,

I pulled my old IIgs system out a couple of days ago and set it up. I have limited software for the machine (all old II and not gs software), and would really like to transfer some more disk images to disks. I have both a 5.25 drive and a 3.5 800k drive on the machine. Inside, there is a modem card on slot 2. Also, I have two external modems and cables to connect them. Can any of these things be used to transfer images?

Apple //e motherboard... (not a plus, but an enhanced //e) powers on, but no beep and junk on the screen...

I bought an apple //e motherboard on ebay,
and I don't have an apple //e keyboard to attach to it,

so all I can do is plug in a monitor, power from an apple ][+ power supply,
and a speaker...

Where are they now? Those famous Crackers of their time? Ever wondered what happened to them?

Wonder what ever happned to all the famous Crackers of our time? What they are up to? Did they continue on in the computer world? Or did they just vanish with out a clue? I know of one guy that out great! Remember a guy called The Freeze? Well he ended up owning his own companies for Computer Supply! What about the others that we heard about? The Jerk? The Gonif? Dr. Death? The Wombat? The Disk Jockey?

Info Wanted: Apple Software Bank ("Blue Book")

Hi, I've been searching around for more information on the Apple Software Bank, which was a collection of user-contributed programs first released in 1978. It's also known as the Blue Book. All I have been able to find are just pictures of its cover-- not so good!

I'm interested in:
- PDF (or other format) scan of its pages
AND/OR
- The original programs which were distributed with it.

Apple Power Suppply Question with AR1*

Hi,

Upon reviewing the Apple II PLUS power supply schematics --on the whole is a very simple SMPS (Switch Mode Power Supply). Being a design engineer (Microprocessor designer) and designed some complex SMPS myself (20KW and 50 KW).

Wirh my background knowledge... I am POSITIVELY STUMPED by the two components on the schematics. First loock at the bottom of the schematic you'll find C8 and a transistor labelled AR1* and a warning icon next to it (triangle with a !).

Apple //c key problem?

Dusted off my //c the other day from my childhood and tried playing some of the games me and my friends made and favorites like lode runner, carmen sandiago and others. I think something is messed up with the directional keys because without pushing anything it automatically goes left or in other games doesn't work at all. I know it's a old computer but i hope there's some way to fix it.
Thanks

Apple II PLUS Power Supply Schematics request.

Hi, I am working on another Apple II PLUS computer. The power supply has a bad electrolytic capacitor. And I need a high quality scan of the power supply's schematics. I believe it is the Astec. I know there may be a couple versions of this schematic, but the one that looks like mine is the one in the Apple II II+ Reference manual. If you scan this, please use the highest scan resolution possible. Also, if you know how to, reverse the pixel colors, meaning make the white background black and the drawing itself white. I find reading this easier to read.

ADTPro : File/Disk Image size mismatch

While trying to transfer Infocom's Lurking Horror or Wings of Fury (around 140K each) my ADTpro gives me the message (FILE/DISK IMAGE mismatch copy anyway?)
When I try to copy it freezes at block 170 or so.

Any suggestions?
