Newbie here saying “Hi”

Hey everyone. I just posted a question but realized I forgot to introduce myself.

I grew up with Apple IIe's in grade school but never owned one. I always wanted one as a kid and now I have an enhanced IIe! I'm new to all this, so I probably have lots of silly questions, but I'm looking forward to learning lots and making some new friends.

Trouble printing from Appleworks 1986 to Epson LX-80

I recently got a new Apple IIe Enhanced. Everything was working perfectly. For fun, I started using Appleworks to keep my daily journal. The computer came with copies of Appleworks disks that were set up with the printer the computer came with; an Epson LX-80. Everything worked fine when I went to print. Of course, that wasn't good enough for me, I had a newer copy of Applworks from 1986 (The original was from 1983 or 85), so I copied that onto the old disks, not thinking much about the printer. I could just set it up again, right? 

 

WRONG!

Apple II super serial card Bill of Materials

Does Anyone have a BOM for all the components on the super serial card? I have a faulty one (causes the machine not to boot) and Id like to repair it but I want to know all the components involved.

Apple IIGS ADB Port Still Not Working

Home brew FDD controller in Apple IIe & other noob questions?

Hi All, my first post here as I only became an Apple IIe owner earlier this week!

When it arrived, I popped the cover off to find a single card installed, what appears to be a 2 disk FDD controller as below:

Premium SoftCard Ile System Programmer's Manual

Has anyone actually seen any format of the "Premium SoftCard Ile System Programmer's Manual" ? I found it being reference in an old Info World magazine article. The buyer of the Softcard was to send in the registration card, and Microsoft would send them this infamous fourth manual. I've searched several online sources, and haven't had any good luck.

Bought factory sealed MS Softcard II System

Last month I decided to just go ahead and purchase a factory sealed Microsoft Softcard II System version 2.28B off of ebay at full asking price (approxiamtely $400 after tax and shipping). So now I have it in my den still sealed. I'm somewhat torn between opening it, or leaving it sealed. Nowadays, very few people collect anything that my generation deems as having value. So I'm leaning towards opening it, installing it, and using it like I did back in the early 1980's in my computer classes. Yet, it looks so cool being sealed.

Apple IIgs Educational/Parental lockout HELP!

I have a ROM 01 board with a non leaking varta battery which still keeps time.. Problem is It passes all diagnostics but I cannot get into control panel. It just locks up when I try. I swapped the ROM out from another IIGS rom 01 machine  and it still does it! What is the deal with that?!
