No power on iie motherboard help (power supply does work)

 Hello,

I'm looking for info on how to go about troubleshooting this apple iie motherboard I'm working on that isn't powering up. The power supply works and confirmed in full working order. Motherboard isn't even getting the led lit up when power is on sadly. I was wondering if anyone here would have some pointers as to common problems causing this please? I do have a multimeter and can follow along with most suggestions anyone might have.

Comrex cr-106 RGB card pinout

Hi.

Does anyone have a manual for this card or knows where on the apple ii main pcb the 5 hooks on this board should connect ? There are are also 3 jumpers on it.

I managed to find only the first 2 pins are sync and gr signals and they can be disabled by 2 of the jumpers on the board when available on apple ii plus.

Not sure about pin 3 & 5 and the vertical jumper in the middle of the biard. Pin 4 is gnd.

Any help is appreciated

Thanks

Apple-II beep but strange Video

Hi all

Try to get an Apple-II working, get the starting beep but there are only stripes and strange characters on the screen (see picture)

The four voltages are ok, tested also the RAM and 74xxx chips, all are working. Changed also the ROM's with a working system.

Any advise what could be wrong with the board?

Thank you for your help!

CFFA3000 and supported file formats

Although I have been using retro computers for many years, I have only been using Apple II computers for a short time. I recently obtained an Apple IIGS and am having a lot of fun with it. I am using it with the Floppy Emu device by bigmessowires.com to load my software. The Floppy Emu supports a wide variety of file types. I am considering purchasing a CFFA3000 card from ReActiveMicro.com, but would like to get a better handle on what file types it supports. Although the manual for the CFFA3000 does list some file types, I do not believe it mentions all the supported file types.

Imagewriter II - not printing properly

Hi,

Recently I have obtained an imagewriter II printer and hooked it up to my Apple IIe via the SSC.

When I print something I drew from Mousepaint, the print starts off well but is always cut short, ending with some garbage characters. (please see attached pictures)

Likewise, when I print a single page from The Print Shop, it also prints well until the end – the lower frame of a single page message is cut off similarly. (sorry, no pictures)

Apple IIe enhanced

Doesn't the 'e' in Apple IIe stand for enhanced?

Well today I got very confused (nothing new here) in a phone conversation with a good friend. He says he got an Apple IIe enhanced. I told him that mentioning it's enhanced doesn't make sense since the e already stands for enhanced. To make a long story short, I found out about the IIenhanced enhanced. Does anyone know the story behind this double enhanced situation? What was Apple thinking?

I mostly use a IIc so I am not into the IIe hardware scene much, although this will change soon.
