Apple IIGS Joystick Pulls In Every Game

I grew up with a IIGS and finally was able to get one again and everything is near perfect but I can't get a Joystick to work.

Got the A2io that I have tried both a 8bitdo and a PS4 Dual Shock. I can load into MECC Computer Inspector and it shows both joysticks acting perfect but the second I load into an actual game it pulls like crazy immediately to the bottom right corner of the screen. I've tried multiple games.

I also tested an actual Kraft KC 3 that pulls in any game I try also.

Is there something I am missing to use a joystick in an actual game?

Dead Apple iie restoration, looking for help along the way

Early  Apple iie not working uk pal version two disk drives and monitor, thought this would be a good restoration project to kill some spare time and learn some new skills on the way.

Apple IIc MMU, screws and handle wanted

Hi all,I recently bought a couple Apple IIc's that turned out to be missing a lot of parts and was wondering if anyone had some spares?

I am looking for:

- Handle (x2)

- MMU IC (Apple part # 344-0011) (x1)

- Set of case screws (x2)

Does anyone have spares of these they would be willing to sell me, or know of a source?

I have found just the handles from a couple sources,  but it would be great to get everything from one source!

Thanks,

Greg

Apple /// PROM logic decode

The Apple /// uses PROMs and masked ROMs for much of its logic functions, in order to fit everything (but the DRAM) onto the motherboard. Many of the PROMs are bipolar 1024 x 4, which means they have 10 address inputs and 4 outputs, so they can implement any four logic functions of ten variables. Later machines, like the Apple IIe and original Macintosh, used PAL chips for this, but the PAL chips didn't exist, or at least weren't readily available, when the Apple /// was being designed.

Franklin 1000 system restoration

So someone brought me a Franklin 1000 in a very sad state to have repaired. Seems they connected up the keyboard cable backwards and did some damage. They did add new foam capacitive pads first but never got the chance to test them.

The long and short of it is I needed to replace a couple diodes and capacitors on the keyboard PCB as well as some TTL logic. The keyboard decoder IC was also bad. IT was impressive the damage caused by connecting a cable backwards considering the cables had no connector or key; its easy to put in wrong!

UNCLE BERNIE'S CODEBREAKER GAME FOR APPLE-II

Hi -

you may not know me yet but I'm an Apple-1 activist. Think along the lines of the slogan:  "The Guy Who Fixed The Apple-1 (tm)".

May I draw your attention to this post on the Apple-1 forum:

https://www.applefritter.com/content/uncle-bernies-codebreaker-game-apple-1

It's a small game for the Apple-1 which is supposed to load and run on the Apple-II, too. Think of a "hybrid" that bridges the abyss between the Apple-1 and the Apple-II. At least, it's an attempt of mine to do that.
