Apple II

Is there an Apple II,+,e, flowchart/walkthough to determin problems??

Is there a site or file or some such that someone can use to diagnose problems in a apple II or Plus, E, etc?

Some sort of thing that you check this thing first  them goto here if  this or there if that? Something kind of modern. not someting from Apple that might say 'replace main booard' if this fault occurs.

Apple Color 100 - faulty brightness pot

My Apple Color 100 works well, but the brightness pot seems to be faulty. The image is stable, but only at max brightness. Once I adjust the brightness down a bit it flickers and wavers a bit, then fades totally to black. If I fiddle with the knob I can get it back again, but it often is very finicky.

I welcome any thoughts on this. I haven't cracked it open yet -- it looks tricky to open, what with tabs and catches as well as the usual assortment of screws. I wonder, would that pot be a standard item?

Will an NTSC Monitor II work with a PAL video signal?

I have an NTSC Monitor II (A2M2010), and I was curious if it could be safely used with European systems (Apple II or otherwise). Since color is not an issue, I was primarily concerned about how it would handle the increased resolution and lower refresh rate. I would just plug a PAL device into it, but I'm not well-enough versed on the subject to be sure that it wouldn't be damaged.

What do you suggest using to reattach the latches on my Apple ][+

It's a very nice and clean specimen so whatever I do, I want it to look good and work well. Should I use epoxy? It seems to me that normal superglue wouldn't be strong enough. Any advice is appreciated.

Arithmetic Processor

Does anyone here know anything about this board:  Arithmetic Processor AP-1.  It's an oldie.

I've had this for quite a while now and have virtually no information or software on it.

The photo here was taken off the web in my search but I have virtually the same board with a different S/N.

[UPDATE]

I found the manual to the board, but there is a program disk called " CCSOFT" that operates it.  If anyone

Apple IIc Drives won't read

Hey, first time posting here i recently picked up an apple IIc that was not working and spent the time fixing it.

I don't have a ton of history on the unit, it was in fairly good condition, when i opened it up it had a Z-RAM Ultra 1 inserted inbetween the MMU and CPU removing that got it to boot. Tested the RAM it works.

Floppy drive is not working, at first it was not making the normal clicks I remember.

Checked drive, cleaned head, Lubed rails (lithium grease)

Did the Unitron U2000 have colour?

Hey guys.

I just finished repairing the keyboard on my U2000 after 4 years of being inop.  Was quite a process.  So I fired up a game to test things out fully and was surprised to see it's completely grayscale, even on a color monitor.

I'm wondering if this is a bug or a feature.  I'm curious if Unitron incorporated the color burst circuitry of the original Apple II.  It seems to be a straight up copy but maybe they cut a corner to save money or to reflect the fact that their target markets were probably mostly using monochrome?
