dsk file works great on emulator but crasch when copy on disk with ADTPro

Hi All,

I have downloaded this DSK file, an open version provided by the author on his web page:

HTTP : // www.erix.it / retro / cast2001.zip

inside the zip file, there is the game with the name C201.dsk. If you load it from an emulator (like Virtual II on Mac), it works perfectly! But when you transfer it with ADTPro on a real floppy to use it on Apple//c at boot time you reach an I/O error!

I try to check the disk and files with the Dos 3.3 utility but no errors are discovered!

Extra colors for hires graphics wanted ?

As we all know, the Apple II can produce four colors in the HIRES mode, plus black and white (which are not "colors", but "shades". But what can I complain. Some computer folks are so uneducated that they pervert the meaning of words all the time. Such as "clone". Back in the day, they called knockoffs of the IBM PC "clones". Big mistake ! According to "Webster's Encylopedic Unabridged Dictionary of the English Language" of 1989, a "clone" is "a group of organisms derived from a single individual by various types of asexual reproduction".

SDisk convert .dsk to .nic

I've built a few SDisk type floppy emulators and I am ready to test them...  But I am having issues converting .dsk images to .nic images.  I can run the Java converter on Linux but I can't figure out how to open a .dsk file with it.  I've tried dragging a file into it but nothing happens.  I also tried downloading the Mac version but it is a .sit archive and the version of Stuffit Expander 16 on the Apple App Store won't open it.  And I don't have Windows and even if I did, it says the binary is intended for XP...  so not sure it will even work.  I guess I can try running it on Wine.  If t

Apple IIGS - RESET line stack on 0V

Hello,

Weird problem here:I bought an Apple IIGS (in non-working condition), ROM01. The motherboard is in bad shape, the battery has leaked everywhere and damaged the traces.

The previous owner fixed the wiring and replaced some ICs.

As far as I can tell the repaired tracks are OK, I've checked them all.

A2VGA Boards

Evening all:

I am considering building an A2VGA board outlined in skate323k137's the blog entry.

Five boards from PCBWay look like they will run me about $33.  Is anyone interested in splitting the cost?

I won't need 5 boards and thought this might be an option to save me and up to 4 friends a few bucks in fabrication costs.

PS/2 keyboard adapter for Platinum //e

Does anyone know if the Option 8 RetroConnector Keyboard Interface //e like this:

https://www.tindie.com/products/option8/retroconnector-keyboard-interface-for-apple-iie/#specs

works with a Platibum //e?  I have a Platinum //e with a keyboard that is basically unsalvageable.  I have the motherboard, case, power supply...

Not sure if I would need to swap out the keyboard encoder ROM to an original style //e one to make this work.

videx softswitch not working

I have a II+ with a Videx and softswitch, but I cannot get the 40 column output on the videx output.  I have triple checked the installation and it all looks correct according to the manual.  When I activate the Videx, I get the 80 column output no problem?  Any ideas?

Thanks!
