Apple ][ europlus schematics? and questions

hello

still try to fix my apple 2 europlus.
it seems to be definitely the character rom. when i remove it and then use wires to ground data lines i can make lines on the monitor. so all exept the rom is working

it seems that europlus doesnt use the 2316B chip. more likely a xx16 / or xx32 prom which is comptatible to 2716 or 2732 eprom? is that correct?

so if i use the apple rom dump and burn it into a 2732 eprom that should do the trick? or do i miss something....

so if someone has euoplus schematics that would be great if i can verify...

Fortran for IIe

Hi,

I have read elsewhere that Fortran for the Apple II comes on two floppies, but the second disk is of a different format? (I have not seen it as a .dsk image). Can anyone tell me if a .dsk image is available or an easy way to do it from the disk 2 .nib image.

Thanks,

Richard

Europlus info please!

Hi to All,

Just bought a Europlus setup from Ebay, mostly for the accessories really but being the first Europlus I have had there are a few questions.

I read that all Europlus machines had an RF modulator but this one does not. Is this right?

The display is a bit quirky in that after entering a few comands, multiple promts and cursors appear, not seen that before!

And there is a missing RAM chip (top left of the bank). It seems to run without it though?

The "Modern" Apple II

Mutant_Pie started a thred discussing the expired Apple II Patent situation.

It got me to wondering...

If it were possible and someone where inclined to (or crazy enough) to want to build an updated and modern Apple II; what would it look like and what components would it contain?

Would you be able to licence the ROM from the current Apple Computer?

Would it look like a IIe Platinum, IIgs, a IIc, or would it have a new body style?

Would it use current components, or would it still be 8, 16, or even 32 bit?

Disk II controller card failure

Is it possible that a bad disk II unit would damage the controller card (installed in iiEuroplus). I am certain I connected the new old drive correctly, but when I connected it, my one perfectly good controller card failed. I now have two failed cards (I notice the Apple Rom on both cards has black leg syndrome, which I will clean off). Is it worth swapping chips around or is there another component on the card that is a likely culprit?

Incorrect Disk II connection - How bad?

Hi,

This is a stupid mistake. On connecting a Disk II drive to the interface card I managed to get the plug on with only one row of pins on the connector. I powered up the Apple but immediately noticed somthing wrong so switched off!

Now the drive spins up on power up but does not boot a disk. I have tried another drive and that is fine so it is not the interface card.

Is there a fix for this?

Any information gratefuly received.

Thanks, Richard.
