To be honest... taking a look at this...
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Working-MacBook-Pro-signed-by-Steve-Wozniak-/301837738409?hash=item4646ee61a9:g:mdgAAOSwfZ1WXniR
I don't believe the signature is done at the computer... it has been stuke on it...
I do believe that this is a fraud...
tokabln,
The problem is that you really can't tell from that picture.
It could be a fake/fraud that's why I took one look and left.
Steven
This might be interesting to buy as the board might be rare without chips, but I think, the description is a bit laughable...
http://www.ebay.com/itm/151936897648
I think, the only thing this card "communicates" with, is the power supply.
The ink appears under the clear plastic. It appears to be a form of protection like the seller says.
Good evening All,
This guy is a constant source of amusement:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/121866355789?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
$5,760.00 for a IIe
Come on now.
Steven
After all he shut down the offer due to "error in offer"....
did he mistype and instead wanted 5.750,00 bucks ??? LOL
speedyG
Speedy,
Nope.
He has it relisted for $4,000.00.
He changed the Description
hoping that it would help sell it.
I wrote him an email and told him
he might get between $200.00 and $300.00
for it, but he would never get $4k.
Steven
Can you believe this guy?
http://www.ebay.com/itm/371537443872?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
Steven
Sure Steven,
No worse than this guy ...
http://www.ebay.com/itm/111880981864
Are Macs allowed on this thread?
http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&alt=web&id=172073007945&globalID=EBAY-AU
I don't know what is more troubling: the price or the lace tablecloths, the lace kleenex dispenser and the teacup collection.
The more important than the lace:
if startup is performed without disk,
am only i missing the "sad mac" icon or the "missing disk" message ?
And if that´s missing ...- how can that guy claim the unit to be
refurbished to "working order" if the system gets stuck before
reaching this "missing disk" message ????
so 1000 for a damaged system of crap that´s out of order ?
i´d call that a clear betrayel and the seller telling lies !
speedyG
Also love the missing mouse ball cover. Just to add insult to the whole thing.
I think the classic can boot from internal ROM disk by holding down command-option-x-o at startup.

How about this one... A IIe for $4K??!
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Early-Apple-IIe-Computer-AA11040B-lot-software/111746162053?_trksid=p2045573.c100034.m2102&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20131003150253%26meid%3D81bca760b5484afc95d23b14382612fd%26pid%3D100034%26rk%3D8%26rkt%3D8%26sd%3D191790889331
seems that guy is irresistable stupid....
that system has been up few weeks ago also with
exorbitant demand....
Steve sent him a message - and the guy replied that
Steven has no idea about real value.....
so seems we all don´t recognize that inside that system
all chips are made of pure gold ??? LOL.....
speedyG
I have a hankering to pick up cheap Apple II books... the last one I got in "Serious Programming For Your Apple II/IIE/IIC" was 'junk' with no useful information to me. But in the back, it referenced some other books that they are trying to sell... and I came across one I thought I might like, so I decided to look it up. Apparently its hard to find and only $1500 bucks, or even more, take a look?!?
http://www.find-more-books.com/book/isbn/0830651535.html
Apparently an empty box for Image Writer II is worth $49, and costs another $47 to ship.
Evening All,
Oh yes.
I have seen all of the items mentioned
(except the $1500.00 book) over
the past week or two.
As Speedy said, I contacted the guy in Chicago with the $4000.00 IIe.
I also contacted the guy with the $49.00 ImageWriter II Box for sale.
Sheesh!
$50.00 for an empty box and another $41.00 to ship it.
Is this guy for real???
Since I was stuck in the house during the Blizzard this weekend
and have spent most of yesterday and today digging out,
I have had some time to take a look at some of the items for sale.
I figured it might quiet down after the Christmas Rush.
"Eeehhhhhh!" Wrong answer!
For some reason that even I cannot fathom
The same crazy people are still asking the same crazy prices.
Go Figure. lol
Steven
It's getting to be repetitive and very annoying, as all of these over priced Apple //e's & II+'s are starting to clutter up ebay's auction list.
What I don't understand is why these sellers have not lowered their prices...
I mean after 2+ months of not selling their over priced stuff,
you would think it would be obvious to them that they are asking too much money!
I've seen some prices drop on eBay Australia as of late. Watched one Apple //c listing drop from $1000 to $200 within a month or so - currently at $202.50 or something along those lines with only two bids.
But there are some refurbished //e systems that have been up there for what seems like months, all around $500. These never seem to be sold - surely the costs of the listing will start to eat into any eventual profit?
and at the eighth day God said:
"I´m going to pour wisdom and brain among you creatures..."
and most daughters and sons of Adam and Eve escaped to the caves
or used bananaleafs as umbrellas...." LOL
Maybe they're hoarders and in no hurry to clean up. Also more and more come from estate sales, more now than ever before. And no one wants to set a precedence for low prices.
Keatah and All,
Most of this current crop of sellers have been around for at least a couple of years.
You would think they would get the hint after listing the same items for the same prices again and again without a sale.
Right now there are three Original Apple II units for auction.
All three have been up at least once with no sale.
One is due to end again this evening.
Another in a couple of days.
IIe's and IIc's are other areas of concern.
There are a lot for auction, but sellers are asking too damned much for them.
Now they're stating to raise the prices on the IIgs units.
I don't know any Apple II user that is actually going to spend $500.00 for a IIgs.
Sometimes I think to myself that if I didn't love these computers like I do,
I'd just stop and sell everything I have.
There's always Baseball Cards. lol
Steven
No takers for this one:

These folks are absolutely Gaga!
Steven
I really got a kick out of how that guy works every little last detail, down to the copyright dates on all the printed materials, as if those tell you anything. It is a 1979 Apple II with a raised keyboard light. Probably worth around $2K on average. That's not bad for a piece of almost 40 year old technology.
At this point, if I were planning on selling an original II, I think I would wait until April 2017.
Don't miss this one!
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vtg-Apple-Computer-Floppy-Disk-Red-3-Ring-Binder-Macintosh-/151976988284?hash=item236288ce7c:g:T2oAAOSwFNZWt~0P
The way I see it is that a customer would need to track down the stickers, the inserts, and a red binder. Either drive to retail to get the binder and inserts, if they still make them. And then purchase stickers too. Figure time, shipping & handling, and the actual cost.. It all adds up.
Best pay the $30 and have one all ready "assembled" for you and delivered to your doorstep.
That's too funny, I was just thinking I have about 100 of those disk holders/binder inserts, more 3 ring binders than I can shake a stick at and a stack of Apple stickers.
Perhaps I should start selling them for $19.99 and start undercutting the competition!
Zan
Zan,
Hell, you could sell them for $9.99 and still make a profit! lol
And now, for the Apple II Collector who has everything, I give you:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/151977299827?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
Only $999,00.
Yup. I sure want to spend my money on that.
Steven
WAT!?
The $2,000.00 IIc.
That's right, a IIc.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/281923114706?ssPageName=STRK:MEDWX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1435.l2649
Oh well.
Steven
Hello Steven,
it seems we should now turn around the question....
it´s no more the question:
what kind of drugs or meds are the guys taking that are sellers...
the new question is:
What the hell are the buyers taking ?
Can you just even imagine what kind of med or stuff would get you that mad to
puchase at such a price and perform such a bidding war ?
Did you view the bidding list of that item ?
If i´d smoke mary jane i´d be dead or at least in a coma like sleep before i´d
even get the smell of an idea to perform such a bidding war !
I´m starting to loose trust in that what you may call confidence in
human brain and human sense.....
what will be the future of human kind, if insanity and madness become selection criteria of
human evolution ( beg you pardon... in some counties people still believe evolution to be only a myth ....)?
But if that becomes selection criteria for selection of future generations,
then i fear human beings will be heading very soon for extinction.... LOL
just my 5 cents...
speedyG
Speedy,
I hear ya.
I personally bid $200.00 for it.
Little did I know that in the last 24 hours it would jump to $2k.
I can see it now...
The buyer gets it home and immediately opens it.
BAM! it is now worth a hell of a lot less than what he paid for it.
Why? Because it's a IIc Dude! Not a II or a IIc Plus!
What does he do?
He puts it back up on eBay and tries to sell it for $1750.00.
What a Maroon.
Steven
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Apple-IIe-set-1970-Works-7-1-2-screen-/322005814097?hash=item4af90acb51:g:U6AAAOSwDuJWvPCM
An exact quote from the above auction: "This was created in 1970 and was was manufactured in France."
It's an Apple IIe Platinum lol.
Don't forget about the 7.5" screen...
Well, at least the price makes sense.
that´s right....
but if you see who issued that offer you´ld start thinking....
oh my God, bless me that my kid´s are not going in that school...
otherwise we´ld take risk that these kids would believe Cupertino
just to be few miles away from Paris and the world will be still flat like a dishplate.....
at the other Hand .... maybe there are more villages in Texas with names of European Capitol cities
like Rom, Paris, Berlin, Madrid.... but believing that such villages out in the dessert
are the "real European Capitol cities" and parts of the European countries to be districts within Texas or California ???
And items made in mid 1985 or 1986 to be originally manufactured in 1970 ?
Where´s the Flux Compensator ?
I´d jump in the car to drag out my kids from that school just right away....
and then i´ld kick down the gaspedal to the very bottom to get away as far and fast away as i could....
LOL
speedyG
The price does make sense... and it turns out the seller is a 6th grader! So I think I can give him a break on this one lol.
Actually looks like it is a 6th grade teacher... so still no excuse.
When I was in sixth grade in 1999 I remember tossing about ten Apple //e Platinums into the dumpster. Ugh.
If he is a 6th Grade Teacher, he could have helped the students
with the research on what they had.
France. LOL!
Steven
Another insane Apple //e listing:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Apple-IIe-computer-GREAT-Condition-/291686705122?hash=item43e9e1e7e2:g:9NYAAOSwDuJWw3-1
$3699!?
Transwarp II Guy, when I saw that the other day I was confused at such a high price until I realized this machine has the "sought-after original Motherboard."
Then it all became clear
