Apple II+ Apple Writer II -- Version Problem

Hey guys,

Have tested multiple images copied to a physical floppy, yet when I boot, I get the following warning and the Apple Writer II program does not start.

"THIS VERSION OF APPLE WRITER IS NOT INTENDED FOR THIS COMPUTER. PLEASE CONTACT YOUR LOCAL APPLE DEALER FOR THE CORRECT VERSION."

Any suggestions?

Apple Writer II is supposed to support both 80 and 40 characters (my Apple II+ only has 40 at the moment)

Looking for a Mountain Computer CPS MULTIFUNCTION CARD working setup disk image

I'm looking for a "dsk" image of the original setup disk for the Mountain Computer CPS MULTIFUNCTION CARD.

IIGS Tape-In Interface

I am working on a ridculous project to bring the cassette-in interfrace from the early 8-bit A2s to the IIGS. I have the hardware worked up (I think so anyway) but on the software side of things I have hit a major wall. My original plan was to trim the tape read code as much as possible and enter it in by hand, however this doesn't seem to be a very good idea since the minimum code required is still somewhere in the neighborhood of 160 bytes.

Power Supplies

Hi,
are all power supplies for Apple II II+ and IIe usable with 220 V?

Want to order some from the USA and don't know if they work with the German 220 V system?

Thanks

Apple II+ ADTPro Scrambled Characters

I am using ADTPro (SERIAL via Super Serial Card) and notice the file-names on my DSK images are all scrambled looking on the Apple II+ side. Transfer works just fine, but the names of the files when listing the directory look all scrambled.

My Apple II+ has a language card installed, so does this mean I have the required 64k?

When I do a memory test as follows, I seem to get something less than what I would expect for a 64k machine.

]PRINT FRE(0)+65536
35207

How can I easily tell how much memory is on the machine?

Or is memory not the issue here?

Thanks,

David

Apple II+ Disk Drive (Write/Align/Test -- failure)

Hi guys,

My second drive on the Apple II+ is not working properly. Intermittently makes loud noises using ADTPro and does not show as a drive to select when receiving disk images (i.e. copying to it).

I ran some tests using "Apple II Confidence Program"
http://mirrors.apple2.org.za/ftp.apple.asimov.net/images/disk_utils/diagnostics/Apple%20II%20Plus%20Diagnostic%20Confidence%20Disk.dsk

And here are the results:

APPLE ][ CONFIDENCE PROGRAM VERSION 0.1
SEEK/READ/WRITE/ALIGN TEST
=========================
DISK SLOT/DRIVE: 6/1 6/2
ONLINE [*] [*]
TEST DISKETTE [*] [ ]
SEEK [*] [*]
READ [*] [*]
WRITE [*] [ ]
ALIGN [*] [ ]
=========================

As you can see, DISK 2 failed on TEST, WRITE and ALIGN.

Before I head down the path of a full cleaning (thanks to SpeedyG's technical guide)

Should I try something else first?

Just wondering what you guys think,

Thanks,

David

ProTERM 3.1

So, I got a copy of the ProTERM 3.1 SHK file here, but I'm having trouble preparing it to transfer with ADTPro to my Apple //e.

First, the file size is too large to transfer to one floppy with ADTPro (162 KB).

Secondly, when using CiderPress to turn the file into a disk image, it aborts in the middle of the transfer, because it's run out of space.

Looking for some very rare Apple ][ software for the VELA (Versatile Laboratory Aid)

Hi All, This is my first post to these forums and I have to confess, I'm an Apple noob to the point that I've never actually used any Apple hardware in my 42 years on the planet :-o

In fact, I'm actually a collector of hardware produced by Acorn Computers and I also collect related hardware that I used growing up and that is why I find myself here today.
