Apple 5.25 Drive Controller Card (655-0101-E)(655-4101) Information

Good evening all,

Just as the title says, I am looking for schematics, pin-outs, etc for the
Apple 5.25 Drive Controller Card (655-0101-E)(655-4101).

I thought I would find something on k4lmp's site this evening, but it is down right now.

Can I convert an 820-0044-C II+ to II?

I think it may be a while before I see a Rev 4 or earlier A2 board on ebay again, but if I recall some previous threads here correctly, I *can* make a II+ board function more or less like an original II board, correct? It's simply a matter of swapping out the ROMs? I've got an 820-0044-C in decent condition I was thinking of using for the task.

Apple II Registry Project

In my efforts to better capture the details around different Apple II models, board revisions, manufacture dates, serial number information, etc., I've run into the problem of inconsistent or sometimes confusing data on the various history sites or articles online. I think collectively we've got an accurate picture, but it's poorly documented and sometimes missing pieces. Through sampling examples of machine information from volunteers, the hope is that we can build a a more accurate representation of how models, serial numbers, board revisions and manufacture dates relate.

Easy ProDOS Question

Like the title says, this one is pretty easy I just can't seem to find it explicitlty stated anywhere.

I am just starting out with some very basic program authoring and from what it looks like to me in most if not all cases, some variant of ProDOS is included on disk for use by the program.

Is this correct? Was this to address the obvious storage limitations i.e. lack of HDDs?

Again, easy one, pretty noobish - I just wanted to confirm my understanding.

Thanks.

No color from Apple II Plus

'Check disk or drive door!' msg suddenly

I was using this Linden clone I got the other day to make some disks. The unit appears to work great -- however, when attempting to format disks under ADTPro, after the first few it started saying 'check disk or drive door'. Now it does that for every disk I attempt to format, even though I switched back to another Apple II and different controller card. Anything I'm missing here?
