Drive Two I/O error?

When I got to format a disk on ADT pro, any disk I put in drive 2 shows up as I/O error. It will format them still, but even a disk that has stuff on it or when the drive is empty it still says I/O error. Both drives won't format side two of any floppy either; I get a * sign What could cause this?

I need a ROM card checked for and Apple II clone.

I've been working on a project to get an old Apple II clone running again. It is called "MICRO II". I've been working with another guy that has been having me probe about every chip on the board for shorts and now that we have that taken care of, we are now down to the ROM card. He asked me if I knew anyone with a EPROM programmer and offered to look at it for me but the problem is that he is over in Australia and I'm over here in Florida.

Picked up an ImageWriter II , now what? need some advice.

ok... I just picked up a dot matrix printer , an imagewriter II to be exact. this printer is brand new , but only has the power cord for it. so I need some advice on how to hook it up. I realize that it is going to need some kind of cable to connect from the printer to a printer card. this leads me two my second question... what kind of printer card should I be getting? I want a good one , one that has plenty of buffer on it , would it be a grappler?

MM5740AAE keyboard decoders listed as in stock from a vendor in the UK

I currently have no need for these parts, but am posting this in case someone on the list needs a couple.

These babies are used in the first and second generation Apple ][ keyboards. Those are the keyboards without the separate plug in encoder board. MM5740 keyboard encoders are very sensitive to static electricity and can be easily destroyed. Replacements are extremely hard to come by, but while searching around for Apple 1 parts, I noticed a business in the UK that is listing them as in stock.

My Apple II Collection has moved to it's own host!

Hello all,

My Apple II Collection, hosted at http://www.turbo-2.com/apple/ has been moved to http://www.apple-2.com/

I'll keep the old site (turbo-2.com/apple) active for a while longer, but my eventual plan is to delete it.

I'll probably be updating the new site, rearranging things and making it a little more interesting soon. I'll keep y'all posted!

Thanks!
Craig

Vintage Computer Fest article on Ars Technica - photos

Ars Technica wrote an article about an event this past weekend called Vintage Computer Fest. There's an Apple section on page 2 of the article although everything shown is probably in some of your living rooms. Still fun though, anyone from here attend?

Always fun to see those old computers.

Apple IIc drive alignment?

Hi,

I got a //c in the mail today, traded it for some Amiga equipment with a chap across the pond.

I had about 60 or 70 floppies from 1987 I wanted to try again, and a few of them actually booted and I ran a couple of programs. But, after a while the drive gave more and more errors, and eventually it wouldn't boot anything at all. Not even the ones that worked earlier.

Looking for a ribbon cable for use with Apple Cat modem and 212 upgrade card.

Looking for a small ribbon connector that you use for the Apple Cat Modem and 212 upgrade card. I have the original ribbon cable , but it's some what long , and I am looking for a shorter ribbon cable that I can use , this way its not boggled down inbetween the two cards , does anyone know where I can get one , or can a standard 11 pin ribbon cable do the trick? I know that there is a blue strip on the ribbon cable , I think to state that it is pin#1 , or does this really matter?

Thanks..

Patrick.
